I worked at Monster Energy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great perks, fantastic benefits, lots of employee engagement activities.

    Cons

Management is terrible. Very immature, managed through fear and threats instead of inspiring their team. Also, employees are expected to have the job be their life. Work/life balance seems to be frowned upon even at low levels.

    Advice to Management

Training, training, training. It is much needed at the supervisor, manager, and director levels. Certain departments in particular need to be purged and restructured.

    Cons

I have been working at Monster Energy part-time

    Pros

Lots of flexibility and independence given to you while working!

    Cons

My boss is unprofessional and makes the job much harder than it needs to be.

    Advice to Management

Make sure that your MAT leads are performing their jobs well. It would be nice if the MATs could have a sit down with our regional managers every once in a while to touch base without the MAT lead present.

I worked at Monster Energy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good experience with distributors and opportunity to work for a cool company. From time to time you get to go to events

    Cons

Pay is below average. Raises are minimal. Promotions don't not happen quickly, this big company try's to operate like a small one.

    Advice to Management

    Pay better

I worked at Monster Energy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Casual environment, on-site cafeteria, free Monster while you work, monthly employee lunch and other freebies, they hire lots of temps - give you a chance to stick around or not (if you have that option) before they make you a Monster employee. Once you are, they make it easy to move to other jobs within the company

    Cons

They make your body comfortable in your cubicle only to blast you with intercom music 24/7 so it's hard to focus on your work and make a phone call. Result: mostly young employees (sorry but I wasn't born with ear buds in my ears) and a Kindergarden atmosphere. Middle management treats everyone equally....like a child

    Advice to Management

If you like to have business experienced reliable employees, do something to make them stick around

I have been working at Monster Energy full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

You will travel to events in this department. I am fortunate enough to have visited many of the major cities in the country. Great department if you love to travel.

    Cons

There is little no no room to move up in this department. It is also difficult to move to other departments from this one. We are not located at the headquarters.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within. It makes 0 sense to fill a manager position with someone with zero experience in the types of events that we do.

I worked at Monster Energy part-time

    Pros

The hourly pay is good and there is an option to set a weekly schedule based on your availability. This makes a good part-time job for extra side income that could potentially work around a full-time job.

    Cons

No benefits are offered to their part time "at will" employees. You are not guaranteed hours as the hours fluctuate weekly based on the company's demand, ability to book events, and seasonal demands. The Brand Ambassador position requires you to be very aggressive and there are very high event picture quotas that you have to meet. There is also a heavy amount of liability with this position that is important to be aware of before you take a job offer.

    Advice to Management

During the first initial interview, please be more direct and forward as to exactly what the job description is and what will be expected of employees at each event. I felt as if not enough information was disclosed to me until after I went through the rigorous hiring process. Management did not discuss job duties in enough detail until the training orientation meeting which was much later in the process. I resigned because I felt like I had accepted a position that was different than what was communicated to me in the initial interview.

    Pros

For the job, and amount of workload, the pay is actually really descent.

    Cons

Not enough hours, or growth for internal movement.

    Advice to Management

Please hire people currently on the team for supervisory/management roles in the future. They truly are the ones that understand the job the best.
