    Pros

    Good office, free hot beverages and milk, nice teambuildings and parties, after SCRUM was implemented here less overload on the developers and QAs - more calm development process. Good for junior and middle level positions.

    Cons

    Weak possibilities to grow after reaching senior positions, almost stable and sometimes outdated technology stack - means limited possibility to grow technically, sometimes strange higher management decisions which can cause high volume layoffs which in it's turn causes overloads on remaining staff and increasing risks on ongoing projects.

    Pros

    It's software and long government contracts mean there's a bit more security than other parts of Monster

    Cons

    No support from corporate, internal politics prevent organization from progressing. No investment in marketing or innovation. Lack of business best practices--or interest in best practices

    Advice to Management

    Just retire instead of coming in between 9 and 5 and pretending to do work.

    Pros

    Generally better than average pay depending on the position
    Many good and talented people in all departments
    Ability to take care of personal issues without push-back, as long as the job gets done
    Benefits seem OK

    Cons

    Lack of go-to-market strategy, no real business model or at least can't be articulated, poor planning - very reactive, non-inclusive and marginal management, Peter Principle at work here, Best Practices? - haven't seen any, non-existent leadership, toxic environment where opposing opinions are not valued, some departments over-step their bounds creating unnecessary conflicts, groups of people required to make simple decisions, poor internal communications and complete dismissal of any of these issues by management.

    Advice to Management

    Your employees are your most important customers, so provide them with full disclosure and trust them to do the work. Like any customer, they evangelize you or not - your choice. Ask questions and be prepared for the answers. Develop people skills and find good leaders. Replace executives and managers who don't cut it.

    Salary ok
    Benefits ok
    Taking time off when needed ok
    Friendly coworkers and staff

    No career path discussions
    No real empowerment to staff
    Some favoritism from certain senior managers that led to a toxic environment or low morale at times
    need more mentorship to new employees
    need more training (example: Monster University)
    treated like children at times rather than professional adults
    need to follow best business practices

    Advice to Management

    Empower employees more, follow best business practices more, have a clear direction on future projects, prioritize new projects better, be honest with your teams, better resource management and certainly budget better as a company to give your employees annual raises when deserved

    Pros

    Salary is above market. There are good people in the mix and you will certainly learn how to deal with politics designed to keep you from getting your job done if that is a skill that you want to add to your roster.

    Cons

    The company is riddled with the kind of people that have given politics a bad name. Finding ways to get other people to do your work and basking in the spotlight when corporate calls is the name of the game at MGS.

    Advice to Management

    Just give it up already. Cut the lego man haircuts and find a better place to shop than Men's Warehouse.

    Poor leadership - the culture is “toxic” b/c leadership sets unrealistic goals, micromanages and is non-inclusive with regard to the day to day of running a business..
