I have been working at Monster Worldwide full-time

    Pros

Benefits, compensation, and PTO are best I've seen.

    Cons

There isn't a lot of transparency in terms of how the company is ACTUALLY performing. Told we are doing great and then lay offs happen.

    Advice to Management

Provide better feedback on where the company is going and how to get there.

I have been working at Monster Worldwide full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Wide array of web properties serving may markets globally. Truly loved the mission of helping people find better and enriching their lives.

    Cons

Layoffs are always happening. Bad management and business decisions left a huge crater for new leadership to climb out of. HR practices are dismal for what should be perceived as best in class HR company practices.

    Advice to Management

Keep up with transforming Monster, there are still great people, technologies, and mission here. Management overhaul much overdue and appreciated but keep clearing the swamp of the old guard VP/SVP as they are protecting their status and silo'd ways. Trust your new staff < 5 years, basically anyone not jaded or negatively impacted by past and present horrible leadership.

I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This was my favorite company I've ever worked for. I really can't say enough great things. Most of the time in sales you are treated like trash and easily replaceable, not the case at Monster. From the moment you are hired to the moment you leave you are treated like family. They stress the importance of sales team members and as a result have created a great culture that is very rewarding for sales reps. I also had a phenomenal manager who really taught us how to be better reps and better people. I have nothing but the best to say about Monster. If you are considering a job here in sales you would be smart to accept!

    Cons

Understanding commission structure felt like it literally required a rocket scientist to break it down for you. I never completely understood it. (As one who hit quota it wasn't a huge problem because Monster rewards your hard work very well with more than fair commissions payouts so even though you don't understand why you got paid so much you are ok with it). Right before my termination I heard they were changing the commission structure to make it easier to understand but I was not there long enough to see that occur.

    Advice to Management

Being blindsided by a layoff was incredibly difficult. I had no prep time to find another job and that can be difficult when you are the only breadwinner for your family. I know in a merger it's probably to be expected but it would have been nice to have been given some heads up.
