I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Fantastic direct leadership team. Brand recognition. Products are priced well, as compared to competition. Was given room to work, so long as I was performing above what was expected. Management will support the team and works to ensure that you are successful. I always felt like my leadership team genuinely cared about my well being, which says a lot. Work life balance was outstanding.

    Cons

There has been a lot of changes over the last few years and there seems to be some disconnect with how best to right the course of the organization. There have also been a lot of layoffs, so it leads to uncertainty.

    Advice to Management

Fix the foundation before you venture into new products. Get more seekers to the site, since this is the bread and butter of why people want Monster. Need to pay employees more if you want to keep good talent. Also need to reward loyalty when considering raises and promotions.

I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great colleagues, bonuses, work life balance

    Cons

Direction, layoffs, recognition, turnover, performance, product mix, account shuffle, confusion, communication, overlays

    Advice to Management

Keep your good people, reward them, and when you’re conducting “lay-offs” don’t let those individuals go whom were over 150% attainment for the quarter, and over 80% YTD with 3 months to spare....Also, you say you “listen, really listen, then implement” please start to listen to your few people whom are left that are on the front lines day n and day out.

I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Salary was high, work life balance was good, PTO was great - 4 weeks to start - making strides to get the marketing team better but still a while out

    Cons

layoffs are constant and unannounced, upper management is all new and they all came from the same company, no real career path because people are getting laid off and not replaced - the company is a thing of the past and being taken over by competitors

I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time

    Pros

    Great people, excellent work-life balance.

    Cons

Monster was acquired last year, and ever since then it had many many rounds of layoffs and the future of Monster is very bleak.
