Pros
There is some great talent at Montefiore, and I found my colleagues to be both mission and data driven. I found great opportunities to collaborate with stakeholders across departments and with senior leadership.
Cons
I found projects often heavily encumbered by red tape and the involvement of many many leaders at all stages of a project.

Pros
Partnership with Einstein Med School
Cons
Some psychologists (only women) make $90,000 in the South Bronx while the rest of the Montefiore psychologists upstate start at $130,000.

Pros
Some people are good at their jobs here, albeit very few
Cons
Everybody I knew at this organization is looking for another job. Let that be a perfect indicator for how things go here. The upper management is the most incompetent group of people I've ever met. They have no connection to reality and expect what they ask for no matter how unreasonable. They are also nearly impossible to get to reply to any sort of correspondence and will blame you for not obtaining results. Management sets you up for failure right off the bat; the onboarding process consists of: showing you your desk and giving you login credentials. That's it. Everything else gets piled onto you no matter your background, they expect you to immediately be good at your job, and disregard any sort of reasonable requests, even though they know how dysfunctional the system is. IT support takes weeks upon weeks to resolve the simplest requests, and somehow management expects you to jump into things even if you don't yet have access to the appropriate software. Work culture is non-existent here. Since so much of the schedule is remote, people almost never meet each other outside the department, even if their desk is right next to theirs. People don't care about their job because there is no promotion structure ever given, people never get raises so people are inclined to not work. The work they give you is so nebulous and poorly defined, yet they still expect you to deliver something that meets their expected numbers, even if they make absolutely no sense. Asking questions offends the managers and makes them think that you don't know what you're doing. I've never worked in an environment where asking a reasonable question automatically outs you as a clueless lazy worker.

No real cons, love it here.
Hi everyone, does anyone here work for Montefiore in NYC? My brother completed all of his interviews with them, now they are asking for a drug test. He currently smokes weed but doesn’t do anything else, he wants to know if they test for marijuana due to NYC/NYS laws. This is not for a clinical position, it’s for an admin position. We’re getting multiple answers so I figured I could ask here. Thank you!
Ugh 🙄 I wouldn’t share this info on a healthcare site like this. If your brother is using drugs he need not work in healthcare ……enough said🥴
Anyone here work at Montefiore? I have an interview for a position with them Friday and I’m looking to feel it out. My cousin works there but in a different role, I’m in admin she’s a nurse practitioner. I will be going for a supervisor position. Thanks in advance!
Hi-I do. Which supervisor role are you interviewing for?
