    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Montgomery Housing Partnership as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Overall great experience and exposure to different aspects of community development work; great flexibility in assignments. Co-workers are friendly, always willing to help, and collaboration between departments is quite normal. Also good opportunities for professional development & networking depending on your interests. Organization has a great reputation and plenty of supporters in the area.

    Cons

Team members take on a lot of responsibility as it is a small organization. As projects or employees change over time, information can sometimes get lost in transition without good organization & communication. Some assignments were re-created only to find months later that there in fact progress was already made but nobody else knew but the previous employee.

    Advice to Management

In addition to formal methods of employee recognition, which are great, take more care to show/express it on a more day-to-day basis.

Also, ensure that there are clear expectations for passing along project information, polices & procedures, contacts, etc. so that future employees do not have to re-create the wheel.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Montgomery Housing Partnership part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Staff are delightful, huge motivators and want nothing but the best from staff as well as students

    Cons

Very big downside is the upward mobility. A friend of mine who has been with the company didn't see his promotion until almost 5 years with company.

    Advice to Management

Invest more into the employees rather than dispersing majority of funds into housing.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Montgomery Housing Partnership as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Experienced staff members
    Dedicated managers
    Diverse work culture

    Cons

There are no major issues to address. More analytical work should be assigned to interns.
