I have been working at Monumental Sports & Entertainment full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Franchise department is incredible and has top knotch leadership. I feel appreciated every single day. Management expects a lot but does everything they can to help you achieve your goals. People and culture is an awesome department as well.

    Cons

Long hours, no OT for salaried employees if you have to work a game. Honestly I don't have a lot of negative things to say.

    Advice to Management

Keep the encouragement up. You are great.

I have been working at Monumental Sports & Entertainment full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fun atmosphere and a good group of employees overall. Management supports employees and offers resources for professional growth.

    Cons

With so many events, the workload can get heavy during the team's seasons. Fortunately they provide many paid days off during the offseason. Salaries are on the low side considering the location.

    Advice to Management

Provide more training to managers on how to develop and manage their staff.

    Pros

Good health care benefits, some freebies, nice location.

    Cons

Male dominated, no advancement opportunities, seems like high school all over again! Low pay for DC.

I worked at Monumental Sports & Entertainment part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Interesting environment, and it's cool to see so many programs come together for the network.

    Cons

Lacks a cohesive sense of teamwork from management; so many individual agendas erode the overall mission.

    Advice to Management

Save the drama for the arena, and try to maintain a collaborative team environment for the office.

    Pros

They feed game-day staff, which is rare. Great networking. Higherups willing to put in a good word for you with other departments or organizations. Caps side is very well organized.

    Cons

They want grad students and yet only pay $8 an hour. Wizards side never had any clue what was going on. Schedules were rarely put out and 0 communication.

    Advice to Management

The left hand needs to talk to the right hand. The Caps is a great org to work for but the Wizards need to stop it with promoting the pretty blondes and people that keep screwing up to get rid of them.
