I worked at Moo Print Limited full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Flexible, stable and pays very well.
    - You will meet and work with great people who are quite diverse and interesting.
    - Fantastic office in an underappreciated area of London (Farringdon).
    - You're not forced to use a Mac.
    - People always up for some banter after work.
    - Excellent IT support crew to give you all the gear you could possibly need.

    Cons

    - Massive legacy codebase that nobody understands because the people that built it
    have all left.
    - Migration to newer systems is slow and painful.
    - Top level decisions predominately driven by sales and marketing, rather than product/UX/engineering.
    - No stock options.

    Advice to Management

    - Be more experimental when it comes to product, there's a huge fear of failure when it comes to trying new things.

I have been working at Moo Print Limited full-time

    Pros

Although growing in size MOO still has a very entrepreneurial approach. It is a great place to develop skills, learn new ones all whilst having fun. MOO is one of those companies that really cares about its Employees and puts its values and culture at the heart of the business. A refreshing change particularly as the company gets bigger.

    Cons

    Need more polycom meeting rooms.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to staff and getting their feedback

I have been working at Moo Print Limited full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great looking office, great pay, exciting stuff to work on (if in the right team), some great colleagues (not all unfortunately)

    Cons

Blame culture from management, paranoid management, no process in place, micro management, some colleagues working there who are just downright rude, lots of unclear politics, favoritisms, no clear career development.

    Advice to Management

Please stop micromanaging people, I literally have the CTO telling me hey CPU is high on this box , can you fix it? I mean what the heck, I got that alert before you, that box isn't even important, let me do my job and fix what is important.

Really, really get rid of blame culture, people make mistakes don't make them feel like trash for that doing that mistake. I had the CTO telling me I lost this much amount of money because I took the site down for 5 mins to do a regular change. Also my manager told me stop working.

I think this sort of stuff really needs to go in companies nowadays.

    Pros

Great perks such as the Friday lunches, cake and benefits similar to other Tech company's. The people were the biggest pro until the best started to resign or were forced to leave!

    Cons

Don't be distracted by free cake and enticed by the snazzy looking job descriptions, as it's not as fun as it looks.
Little to no ownership of being able to make your own decisions or changes. All new processes get implemented by senior management, without any discussions with the people who actually do the job, and if you vocalise your disagreement or voice your opinion you will be penalised and pushed out.
Structural and major role changes were made without any involvement from employees it would affect, and the Senior management would prefer to stick their heads in the sand and ignore the unhappy teams, multiple resignations from one team, and messy uninspiring new roles rather then tackle it head on to see how to improve.
If your looking for a long term career in Account Management then MOO isn't for you, as it's more of a Customer service role with a sales target attached, and let's not forget to mention; the lowest commission structure, unnecessary call targets and very slow progression plans that don't include a substantial pay rise attached.

    Advice to Management

Be open and honest with employees, be more transparent about what's happening behind the scenes & take on board advice and changes that teams suggest for the better!

    Pros

    - Very social people
    - Additional training provided
    - Relationship building encouraged
    - Highly qualified and friendly staff to learn from.

    Cons

    - Not enough equal opportunities
    - Lots of politics and unnecessary drama
    - HR not as helpful and supportive as they should be
    - Customer service team not valued as much as they should be
    - Management quick to point the blame downwards and spend more time playing the blame game than actually fixing issues
    - More concerned about delivery than strategy
    - A lot of territorial behaviour
    - Serious lack of communication

    Advice to Management

Be aware of your teams needs, encourage way more teamwork, better communication, be present and not in a suffocating, micro-managing way but in a way that actually nurtures significant growth.

I worked at Moo Print Limited full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Standard tech industry perks which involve free food, free booze and of course the unmissable ping pong table. Needless to say you're fully empowered to pick your own favourite Sharpie colour and Post-it stack. Democracy at its best. Having said that, this is a good place to begin your career straight out of uni, but don't stick around as you'll pick up bad habits.

    Cons

Behind the immediate perks and claims of being able to make decisions when best placed to, there is absolutely no trust from management and the executive team towards the teams. All the structural changes that have been put in place by new execs clearly demonstrate that teams should carry on being distracted by free cake and balloons, whilst nothing gets better, but infact gets worse for most, but benefits just a handful. No sense of urgency which means there is poor true employee engagement and also loads of coasters that are simply too short-sighted to see they are picking up bad habits that will never be accepted elsewhere. The great culture some talk about, is more like when you're in school and you're part of the right crowd. If you're an independent thinker, eager to fine-tune your craft and experiment you will automatically belong to the wrong crowd. When the wrong crowd numbers start rising, more right crowd types are brought in from the right kind of places to secure majority. HR is more than a joke whereby there's been clear injustices across all departments but everything is dangerously brushed off as coincidental or environmental.

    Advice to Management

Be honest about what it is that you want and give your employees the option to be part of it or not rather than putting so much effort in avoidance.

I have been working at Moo Print Limited full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great culture and group of people. Awesome office, Friday lunch, plenty of parties all help but it's the culture and people which really make MOO stand out.
    - New CTO is excellent and is providing vision and support for the tech team.
    - Willingness to improve and progress.

    Cons

    - There has been a lack of support for a while on the tech side. New CTO, other hires and great platform managers are turning this around but there is some technical debt to address. Some of this is due to MOOs success and speed of growth - management seem to be aware but there is plenty of problems to tackle and a lack of real cutting edge technologies.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. The culture and interaction between all the different departments (creative, tech, marketing etc.) works well and there is a good mixture of skills and people. Support the CTO! Sometimes doing things slowly but well on the tech side and investing in the process will reap benefits in the future. This seems to be hitting home but requires continued investment and support.
