    I worked at Moody's full-time

    Pros

Overall the company is good to work for.

    Cons

When mid-level managers are brought in to run the PMO (even though they have never run a project) and start hiring consultants and former associates from Deutsche Bank (where they came from) and paying them crazy money, it leaves a very sour taste in everyone's mouth. Especially when PMO lead gets his former associates to write and rate his performance. Makes you wonder....do you really want to work in the PMO office......?? Cloud strategy is off the rails, going in the absolute wrong direction as new SVP's who work remotely tend to regurgitate others presentations.

    Advice to Management

Keep a close eye on your PMO consulting and salary budgets. Know who and where reviews come from of MD's.

I have been working at Moody's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people for the most part. Potential to have a great blend of intellectually stimulating and relevant work.

    Cons

Too much bureaucracy. Poor management. Poor vision. Poor strategy. Too responsive and reactive. Not forward thinking. Really is only saved by being in a protected industry that has low barriers to entry by competition

I worked at Moody's as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people, very collegial work environment.
At the forefront of the finance industry
Much is being done to modernize the business and operations

    Cons

Very corporate and change takes a long time
    Advancement opportunities are low
Can't get talent due to low pay
It is a dying business due to automation

    Advice to Management

Management needs to learn how to expand business either organically or inorganically.
Also tends to hire externally rather than internally for managerial positions, which should be reconsidered.

    Pros

    Great experience, intelligent, hard-working team.

    Cons

No work life balance, understaffed, process issues, too much red tape and bureaucracy, poor prospects for long-term career growth. Benefit package is good, but salary is on the low-side of the market and bonuses are dismal.

I have been working at Moody's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The culture at Moody's is great- the people are generally nice and there is no room for cowboys. In addition, employees are incredibly diverse with just about nationality and language represented there.

    Cons

Given the transactional nature of the work, the hours can be very tricky. In addition, there isn't a clear delineation between titles as people with very different titles often do the same work making salary negotiations difficult.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees- there have been alot of changes by management which leave employees and even middle managers frustrated and helpless.

I have been working at Moody's as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice people, WFH when needed, attempts to be very professional through structured tiers of communication. Nice building with free coffee..

    Cons

More concerned with optics and managing of project health messaging than honest, transparent communication and realistic road maps. Years behind the rest of the world in regards to technology.

    Advice to Management

Practice what you preach in regards to technology and communications. Listen to your consultants and stop being more concerned with the font, size and color of your power point slides than reality of the content
