I worked at Moogsoft full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great technology (lot's of granted and filed patents)
    - A lot of great, talented people remain at Moogsoft
    - The new incoming executive leadership hasn't had a chance to deliver results
    - A very large addressable market and ripe for disruption
    - Changes are happening for the long term success of Moogsoft

    Cons

    - Lot's of change happening all at once
    - Lot's of emotion associated with the layoff (apparent in reviews)
    - Poor communication from CEO to company on significant changes and leadership changes
    - Product complexity

    Advice to Management

    - Don't write off the reviews by current and former employees. Listen, learn and improve
    - Don't lose the great culture that Moogsoft built over many years
    - Communicate often and be transparent on both positive and negative events
    - Product complexity and delivery should be a top priority

The technology is best in class and solves a big need. It provides customers the visibility needed to improve service assurance. The team is solid and the recent management changes are well received and making lots of the necessary changes to scale the business. The company's culture is collaborative and allows people to learn and grow.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Continue making the necessary changes to help the company grow and increase sales.

I have been working at Moogsoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have been at Moogsoft for over 2 years and through the highs and lows I can say Moogsoft is truly a great place to work. The product solves an important issue in the industry and no other product compares, and the culture is thriving. While we are still a start up and we have some obstacles to overcome, I can say the management team has handled these obstacles with grace and they have the best interest in the company when it comes to decisions they make. I truly love work at Moogsoft and am excited to see what the future holds for us.

    Cons

We have come across some hiccups that many startups face but the future outlook of the company is positive. Looking forward to see where Moogsoft goes and am excited to be along for the ride.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and learn from the past.

    Pros

Highly technical product that is highly customizable

    Cons

Highly technical product! Tough to deploy and company does not foster a sales culture

    Advice to Management

Follow the Microsoft example and become a cloud first company (that just happens to also make package software)

I have been working at Moogsoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some great people still left on the team, who care passionately about fixing what’s broken.

    Cons

Not sure how management manufactured all these positive reviews b/c moral with the troops is low.

The company went on a hiring binge after the last round, then fired most of these new hires just a few months later after sales tanked. Needless to say, this was a huge hit to everybody’s moral.

The company hired a new COO who had literally just been charged by the SEC for financial misconduct. The COO then brought on executives from his network that were simply head scratchers in terms of experience and fit. Needless to say, this was also a huge hit to everybody’s moral.

People who have felt part of the herd for years are no longer feeling the love.

Product is needs fixing in a number of core areas, yet product innovation has been rudderless for the last 18 months. Not good.

    Advice to Management

    Focus on fixing the culture.

    Focus on fixing the product.

I have been working at Moogsoft full-time

    Pros

    - Good work life balance
    - SF Location is in a beautiful part of town

    Cons

    - Don't apply unless you are friends with the senior management, have been charged by the SEC with insider trading, or are vastly underqualified. Based on recent hiring, these appear to be the perfect blend of skills to land you a top job at Moogsoft.
    - Lots of staff who have been with the company for a long time are looking to leave. Take this as a sign, the Glassdoor reviews do not paint an accurate picture of life at Moogsoft.
    - Company seems focused on sales and not innovation. Their core product is broken in a multitude of ways and those with the power to effect change are not prioritizing its shortcomings.
    - Compensation is not competitive for the industry.

    Advice to Management

Assert control over your newly established executive team. They're hiring underqualified people and deteriorating the culture that Moogsoft prides itself of.

I worked at Moogsoft full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Still some wonderful people on staff
    - At it’s core, the product has strong value for users and the IT Ops industry

    Cons

    - Executive team seems unwilling to acknowledge the hard problems faced by product, and company culture
    - A rapidly declining working environment at a time when strong teams are needed
    - Drastic cost cutting (on both employee compensation & business tools) is hurting tactical effectiveness
    - Obvious prioritization of sales over innovation

After accepting a D-Round of funding, Moogsoft brought on a new COO, an SEC-indicted executive with a reputation for treating himself well, but keeping tight purse strings on company costs. He’s turned out to be a dictator with obvious control issues, who’s remaking the company in his image from the top down.

The problems that have existed for a while within product and usage (a time-consuming, complicated install process, extraneous features that add to the girth of a tech stack but bring little value to users, and a completely broken customer success process) are being spun as communications and selling issues, and laid at the feet of sales and marketing, two departments that have been gutted by layoffs and exits, where previous leadership has been replaced by people with not much category or practical experience.

New employees beware: This is not a stable or comfortable environment to work in.

    Advice to Management

Focus on building and selling a product that customers actually need, not simply on what you need to sell them. Return to building work culture that promotes growth, creativity and camaraderie, not just falling into line without question.

I have been working at Moogsoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - The employees (pre sales/services) in the trenches are second to none.
    - The concept alone is worth pursuing for big companies drowning in alerts/sev 1's.
    - You will be uncomfortable but you will develop sharp technical skills as pre-sales or services.

    Cons

    - Customers are extremely needy and are desperate for a solution.
    - It will take some time to properly improve delivery of a very technical product.
    - Deployments take up to a year or more.
    - Moogsoft is a technocracy.

    Advice to Management

    - Bring in hired guns to augment product management to fix the product and stop field development/solutions.
    - If you need a Javascript Developer and Data Science Engineer on staff as a customer, the product is too complex.
    - Stop trying to boil the ocean and make a product with a quick ROI that concentrates on the main thing and not everything.
    - Teach a methodology.
    - If you're serious about going public, why hire a CEO that can't take you there because of a past conviction?

I have been working at Moogsoft full-time

    Pros

    - Nice coworkers
    - Company puts on lots of off-sites and employee events, which is fun
    - AIOps space is very hot
    - Strong story and vision

    Cons

    - long and complex product installation leads to frustrated customers and exhausted services team, many of which are leaving.

    - sales execution has been poor. sales are down so the company has laid-off a ton of good people in sales, SE’s, services, marketing, channel sales. managers are leaving too

    - marketing that does not match product reality and customers are disappointed.

    - lots of post-sales issue

    - management that doesn’t listen! yes they have a strong vision, but their ego makes them unresponsive to other points of view, especially around execution

    Advice to Management

    - Listen more to your people.
    - Don’t over promise to potential customers
