    I worked at Moogsoft full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great technology (lot's of granted and filed patents)
    - A lot of great, talented people remain at Moogsoft
    - The new incoming executive leadership hasn't had a chance to deliver results
    - A very large addressable market and ripe for disruption
    - Changes are happening for the long term success of Moogsoft

    Cons

    - Lot's of change happening all at once
    - Lot's of emotion associated with the layoff (apparent in reviews)
    - Poor communication from CEO to company on significant changes and leadership changes
    - Product complexity

    Advice to Management

    - Don't write off the reviews by current and former employees. Listen, learn and improve
    - Don't lose the great culture that Moogsoft built over many years
    - Communicate often and be transparent on both positive and negative events
    - Product complexity and delivery should be a top priority

    I have been working at Moogsoft full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Having worked in the valley for many years and specially for start-ups, Moogsoft stands out for me for the following reasons.
    --a culture that promotes human values
    --a vision that is going to define our future
    --and last, but not least, backed by a strong team of committed employees, board members and customers.

    Cons

    As in any start-up, its a roller coaster rider, so you have to have the stomach for it. It's exhilarating for those that enjoy the challenge and are committed to building a great company.

    Advice to Management

    Maintain continued focus to build great products and a company. The road to innovation is never straight or well paved.

    Pros

    There are many vendors chasing the buzzword of AIOPS but very few that are leading the pack - the technology is strong - has more depth and is stronger than anything else in the market - big vendors have no magic and small vendors are without true IP or data science. Talent of technical pre-sales team is a blend of extreme ownership and complete loyalty - best I've ever seen at any vendor. Phil (CEO) is a domain expert, genuinely nice and will support you (before, during or after a sales process). - cares about the customers and replies to every email/text/call quickly. New president/COO, Amer, has a strong work ethic and appetite to engage on the business - smart, charismatic and wants to be engaged - Amer does something that many of the previous team did not do...he adds extreme value to the business, is responsive and is here to scale the growth of Moog.

    Cons

    Many areas of improvement that are necessary - the old guard of Moog was headed into chaos under former CRO management and the team he built. The new COO/president, Amer, has overhauled organization to allow for the business to scale efficiently. Market is noisy with vendors claiming AIOPS without any true ML, Data Science or IP.

    Advice to Management

    Remove silos and any layers of management...encourage one team culture internally...C-levels need to communicate to the people weekly - communicate goals for each BU quarterly (for example, this quarter, marketing will be doing XYZ, etc.) ...allow for a sales culture to be accepted/built.

    - Still some great, very talented, highly motivated people with the company
    - Great technology and a lot of innovation

    Cons

    Where do I begin?

    - Bad business leadership, over hired after last round of funding only to fire so many employees few months later
    - Product super complicated and hard to implement
    - No clear strategy, poor communications and lack of transparency with the employees

    Pros

    People. Everyone here is very sharp and willing to do what it takes to make a startup successful. It cannot be all fun and games all the time. Long hours are what make people millions of dollars. I believe the negative reviews are from people looking for a handout.

    Cons

    It can be a tough product to deploy especially when the customer's infra is a mess. It is like trying to convince a company of why they need a good CMDB, which no one really has perfected. Every customer thinks they are unique, but really they are all the same... A mess.

    Advice to Management

    Press on. Complaining is for wussies.

    Highly technical product that is highly customizable

    Highly technical product! Tough to deploy and company does not foster a sales culture

    Advice to Management

    Follow the Microsoft example and become a cloud first company (that just happens to also make package software)

    Pros

    Some great people still left on the team, who care passionately about fixing what’s broken.

    Cons

    Not sure how management manufactured all these positive reviews b/c moral with the troops is low.

    The company went on a hiring binge after the last round, then fired most of these new hires just a few months later after sales tanked. Needless to say, this was a huge hit to everybody’s moral.

    The company hired a new COO who had literally just been charged by the SEC for financial misconduct. The COO then brought on executives from his network that were simply head scratchers in terms of experience and fit. Needless to say, this was also a huge hit to everybody’s moral.

    People who have felt part of the herd for years are no longer feeling the love.

    Product is needs fixing in a number of core areas, yet product innovation has been rudderless for the last 18 months. Not good.

    Advice to Management

    Focus on fixing the culture.

    Pros

    The technology is best in class and solves a big need. It provides customers the visibility needed to improve service assurance. The team is solid and the recent management changes are well received and making lots of the necessary changes to scale the business. The company's culture is collaborative and allows people to learn and grow.

    Cons

    - Growing pains and sales processes that need to mature and become more effective in selling the technology.

    Advice to Management

    Continue making the necessary changes to help the company grow and increase sales.

    I still believe in the product. The pain it solves is only getting worse.

    Cons

    I agree 100% with the review from Jan 11. Moogsoft used to have the mojo working, but has somehow squandered it. It’s now a sad place.

    Most of the brightest folks (who have options in the market) have already left for greener pastures. The rank and file don’t trust the execs to right the ship, as they are the ones whose mix of arrogance and incompetence got us to this sorry state.

    I mean, we were killing it two years ago and then management made a series of self inflicted mistakes. They failed to fix the problem of manual and slow deployments. They invested in features that were very far from our core, resulting in a Frankenstein platform that is complicated to sell, deploy, and use. They hired execs that are horrible mix of mediocre and toxic. The recent hire of a COO that was indicted by the SEC for insider trading has not helped matters at all. Worst of all, the blood rushed to their heads after the Series D and they went on a hiring spree…only to lay off those people, and many long-timers, a short while later. What were they thinking?

    Customer retention used to be great. Not so much any more. Where we used to beat the competition more often than not, now we lose to the competition most of the time.

    Like I said, it’s become a sad place…especially considering all these troubles have been totally self-inflicted.

    Advice to Management

    Right the ship fast, or sell it.

    I have been working at Moogsoft full-time

    Pros

    - many smart people that are fun to work with
    - interesting product idea that helps solve a big problem
    - cool office location and lots of social activities
    - decent pay & benefit package (health could be better)
    - a lot of buzz in the industry..MOOG is a popular company

    Cons

    - new management is sociopathic and destroying the culture
    - inexperienced leaders being brought in to replace good people that are leaving
    - constant lay-offs and firings have employees running scared
    - product is difficult to use and many customers are unhappy
    - sales are down and the company is struggling
    - employees are not being valued and morale is low
    - fake Glassdoor reviews to try to cover up all of the above

    Advice to Management

    - hire better management and fire the ones that are in place
    - treat employees like humans not cattle
    - set better expectations and create reasonable plans
    - manage the company and budget better
