    I worked at Morgan McKinley full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Uncapped commission
    Great social scene
    Very good leadership team
    Always trying to improve the brand
    Extensive training provided
    Lots of office banter even with management
    They give newbies a chance but pressure does come after a few months
    Very strong job flow and great clients on their books which really helps
    Great history and tradition
    Christmas parties are great

    Cons

    Very rigid working day hours
    Having worked at other agencies since I've come to the conclusion that it's very unfair to have thresholds each month on commissionable revenue. The company is very successful and not short of a bob or two, this kind of penny pinching is completely unnecessary
    The big billers get great commission but starting off on a contract desk or even a perm desk it's quite hard to meet quarterly targets to get the big quarterly bonuses. It does come in the end though
    Salary is very poor. Thresholds increase with higher salary too which is madness
    No company benefits that are worth mentioning

    Advice to Management

    Increase base salaries
    More flexibility
    Get rid of thresholds they are unnecessary
    Put more faith in employees - stay away from the micro management
    Keep marketing the brand the way you have been it's great to see

    Pros

    Excellent company to work for. They provide thorough training and support when you join. There is a great working environment and access to further training if you need it. Morgan McKinley are a strong and immediately recognised brand in the market.

    Cons

    The base salary is not the highest. However, there is ample opportunity to make commission if you are motivated.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    I worked at Morgan McKinley full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Young culture, sports & social, excellent training (turns into a con as grad consultants are poached within a year), reasonably good commission structure

    Cons

    Little/no encouragement in relation to moving internally, try to keep good revenue generating consultants boxed into areas even if they want a change. Hang on to poor performers far too long, leaving a negative atmosphere and a lot of bitterness from good employees. Have to ask for promotion and get another job offer for salary increase

    Advice to Management

    Allow more internal movement where possible. Cut loose poor performers/negative attitudes.

    I have been working at Morgan McKinley full-time

    Pros

    - good corporate culture ;
    - the backbone of executive search business gives extra flexibility compared with other majors ;
    - one of the best training grounds in the market ;

    Cons

    - sometimes consultants tend to be less aggressive ;
    than they should , especially in the non FS business;
    - work and life balance ( quite common in recruiting )
    - rewards are not always fairly distributed across the top performers

    Advice to Management

    Promote more cross-interaction among the offices regionally and globally

    I have been working at Morgan McKinley full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Don't think twice if you are money driven and will join the finance services teams.
    By far the best Banking and asset management teams in Japan with 3 consultants billing over 75 million yen per year!
    Great management in all finance services teams and IT.
    Noble business mentality, brand seen as reliable in the finance industry.

    Cons

    Commerce and industry are forced by one toxic person to focus on useless processes and meetings and not on results which causes a big performance gap compared to finance services teams.
    Below average base salary when compared with other famous global recruitment firms. Below average commission scheme when compared to some boutique firms.
    Weak incentives when compared to most competitors.

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of the one toxic person that keeps harassing commerce and industry members. He is not needed and has caused enough damage, other people in glassdoor already alerted about him. You know who he is.
