I have been working at Morgan Properties full-time

    Pros

I've been working for Morgan Properties for almost 2 years, and it's been a life-changing experience. The managers here care about you and your professional growth. They talk to you about your value and the impact you have on the organization, ask you how you would like to continue to develop your career, and then they follow through with putting a plan in place to make sure you meet your goals for yourself and for the organization. I'm excited at how far my career has come since joining Morgan and the possibility of where it can go in the future!

    Cons

I don't have any cons for this organization.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the awesome work!

I worked at Morgan Properties full-time

    Pros

Some great co-workers and great way to learn since there is no training. One must figure it out themselves.

    Cons

Upper management is horrible and it's all about how well someone likes you. The corporate office has a joke of a VP for their HR staff, one of the most unapproachable people in the company. Upper Management does not care, they are all about how much money the VP's can earn and not the little people actually running the company. Not a family company at all, even though they claim they are.

    Advice to Management

Get new VP's who actually enjoy working with people and do not suffer from mental illness.

I worked at Morgan Properties full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Compensation is reasonable. Company keeps making money and acquires new properties every year. Continued growth. You get reimbursed for any traveling. Yearly conference is something to look forward to.

    Cons

Poor management and leadership. All I heard since I started was how my manager didn't know what he was doing and wouldn't last. Cold work environment. You are expected to be a work robot with no family or life. No flexibility if you or child is sick. Corporate building is like stepping into the 1980s. What's also like the 1980s is for time-off, you fill out a paper form and personally hand in or fax to HR.

    Advice to Management

Get to know your employees. Provide direction if no training is given. Learn to be compassionate and take the time to get to know your employees. Management at my last company was top-notch and would ask how you are, how was your weekend/holidays and actually care about your response. It goes a long way... & isn't difficult or time consuming.

    Cons

Upward mobility is low in most corporate departments.

    Pros

    Good Benefits Package and Pay

    Cons

Negative work environment, Poor Managers, Ineffective Leadership, Poor Treatment of Residents, No Work/Life Balance

    Advice to Management

Recognize you are not a "Family Company" any longer. The company is too large to have a family feel to it, most people the feel it is are one that have been with you from the start. Hire better managers. Culture and Values are just words on the boards you put in the offices of your communities, adhere to your stated core values or don't display them at all.
