I worked at Morgan Stanley as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

I was surrounded by people who genuinely wanted to offer the best of service to their clients and guarantee an entirety of services to clients. The workplace had a fantastic culture and people treated me like a valued member of the team. Everybody wanted to get to know me, and I had a great experience.

    Cons

The on-boarding process is very lengthy. However, the HR rep at our branch was very friendly and easy to work with.

    Advice to Management

Continue to enable advisers to provide the entire financial picture to their clients. Keep investing in people and try your best to retain the amazing human capital at the Oak Brook branch!

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Morgan Stanley full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Occasional free lunch. Mediocre benefits.

    Cons

Outdated systems, managers with no answers- often they provide an incorrect answer just to feel like they have supplied you with an answer. Very poor organizational culture. A large majority of the staff is miserable. Management doesn't know how to lead and build relationships. There are a few "have's" among the associates and many "Have nots".

    Advice to Management

Learn how to lead. Learn how to communicate with your financial advisors so they don't walk around the office treating everyone like complete garbage. Act as if you care if this is reported to you. Get a system that works, technology is important.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Morgan Stanley as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fantastic opportunity to network and meet people from a variety of companies, especially when you are still finishing school.
Supportive firm that wants to see you succeed.
Very flexible work schedule while going through school.

    Cons

While they want to see you succeed, it takes HR and managers forever to get back to you, when applying internally.

    Advice to Management

Doing an awesome job from my experience, however, speeding up the internal job responses would benefit interns and it would keep quality employees what want to continue with the MS long term.
