    Pros

    Awesome learning experience
    Great technology stack
    Always surrounded by experienced people

    Cons

Unfortunately interns do not get any performance bonuses. Other than that, nothing to complain about

    Advice to Management

Nothing to complain about. So went smooth. Holidays always accepted, all okay

I worked at Morgan Stanley full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good salary, fast paced work environment, a lot of people are excellent, let down by a select few

    Cons

    Poor management, based on favouritism

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring managers based on favoritism within the company. Too much snobbery from some employees. Better culture than some banks, but still highly unequal and too much brown nosing.

I worked at Morgan Stanley as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people. The culture. The events throughout the internship to make sure you get as rich an experience as you can in those 13 weeks.
The responsibility you are given as you are put on real, ongoing projects. The help you get from everyone.
You're always in the loop, you receive news about everything going on in the company and in the financial world.
The HR team are lovely and are really great at getting back to you quickly and help you as much as they can.

    Cons

It can be so busy at times, that you feel like you don't want to ask for help because you don't want to bother your superiors.
Some teams are so demanding, that some interns could not get their holidays when they wanted.

    Advice to Management

Make sure everyone is put on the right team for them and that they are given responsibilities and really get a good experience of working for you. This can vary for interns, from team to team, and it's a pity as it's a really great place to work at.

Hours can be long and are never fully compensated. Dealing with US office can be challenging. Lack of transparency about compensation and bonuses, comp day usually leads to disappointed at. Difficult to get promoted.

    Pros

The culture is very good. People are very friendly and nice. We do have work life balance in the department.

    Cons

The compensation is not as high as industry level. One of the main reason is the market performance and cost cutting strategy.

    Advice to Management

The management can improve the compensation and recognition to current employees and provide more mobility opportunities.

I worked at Morgan Stanley full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pretty good graduate training program for Technology that takes place in New York and London. Great employee benefits. The work really depends on what team you get in. The infrastructure they have is really good, but it is pretty closed from the outside so you might have to work with slightly out-dated technologies, that has to be approved.

    Cons

Too much investment in JVM ecosystem and everything is driven by how profitable it is. The technology is secondary to business.

    Advice to Management

Try to create a better environment for developers, the work place is more like a call centre and there is too much space for hacky solutionsover quality

I worked at Morgan Stanley (Less than a year)

    Pros

Insightful to the services they offer and good practical experience of the role finance plays in running of a bank. Lots of opportunities to shadow and high conversion rate following completion of interview.

    Cons

Too long - 13 weeks - so takes up whole summer. Others do a 6 week internship and still get same outcome from it. Pay is very poor in comparison to London

    Advice to Management

Make the internship shorter, increase salary to increase incentive for interns to return as grads.
