I worked at Morgan Stanley part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Management is great, a lot to learn here. Fast pace work environment but it was rewarding.
management is very fair and is willing to listen if you have an issue.

    Cons

extensive training, but it being a financial services company that is expected. Although you are expected to do the training and take exams afterwards while also doing your daily work.

    Advice to Management

have new employees do the training BEFORE they start working. it is pointless to have the employees do the training while doing other work. this was counter productive as you are only paying attention to one thing at a time but doing two things.

I worked at Morgan Stanley full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A paycheck. If you are looking for just a paycheck, and "moving up the corporate ladder" is not a major concern, this is the ideal place for you.
Management in various departments is quite fluent in doublespeak.

    Cons

The company has very few (if any) formal learning opportunities for employees that are below VP. Contrary to popular belief, employees are not given preferential treatment for posted positions. MS would rather hire from outside first.

DO NOT FILL OUT THE "ANONYMOUS EMPLYEE SURVEYS.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with the same respect you expect.

Although I am annoyed about being part of a "reduction in force", that does not make my statements any less factual.
