I worked at MorganFranklin Consulting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly people, nice building and facilities.

    Cons

Very top-heavy (the amount of senior managers is ridiculous), little to no lower-level staff, limited pipeline, everyone seems to be looking for a way to get out, so you never know if your superiors or colleagues will still be with the firm tomorrow. High attrition rate. Lots of behind the door gossip among top leadership.

    Advice to Management

The CEO shouldn't be worshiped like he is; He isn't that important.
    Address attrition rates.
Hire staff and not just senior managers and directors. The place is extremely top-heavy.

    Pros

You will be surrounded by smart people, lots of opportunities to roll up sleeves and work hard. You will see the results of your work immediately as you deliver to the client. HR, comp and benefits are great. Certain MDs are awesome to work with and have a long term vision in mind. The CEO is a good person.

    Cons

Management has empowered certain MDs to take a generally cut-throat and short term focus. The only real emphasis is on billable hours. You want to go on a training? What's the impact on your billable hours? You only billed 35 hours this week? Why didn't you reach out and try and get some more work? Nevermind the fact you may have worked 70 hours in the prior week. Make sure you work on the airplane, and while you're waiting at the gate. Seriously. Because the work you do on your tray table in a cramped 737 can't be done when you get to the client site? If there's a set amount of work per a project, it shouldn't matter WHERE and WHEN you do the work as long as you meet client deadlines and expectations. This is low hanging fruit that would improve the culture. The company had some tough times in 2016 and management came up with the fantastic idea of "Bill more hours" as the solution. The real solution is take advantage of the slow time by having your employees focus on drumming up business. Not squeezing them as if it's all their fault. Look to the big four advisory arms. They have mandatory training (quite in contrast to MFC's approach which makes you feel guilty to request training). They also aren't focused week to week on billable hours.

    Advice to Management

Relax a little bit. It's going to be ok. You have good people and the work is out there to get. Stressing and pressuring people with shallow requests and demands is very counterproductive. When people are unassigned don't make them feel guilty or under pressure. It's not their fault. If it is their fault that's a different story (i'm not talking about underperformers). Bonus structure is a joke (bill an insane amount of hours and never see your friends and family get 10% bonus; bill a reasonable amount of hours and get an 8% bonus).
