I worked at Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company with many incentives. Bonus checks every year during christmas season as well as gift cards for turkey during thanksgiving week.

    Cons

Hotel housekeeping needs to pay more for the hard work that is done. Some of the work is really nasty as you can imagine from a casino hotel.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to employee requests and needs.

I worked at Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Benefits.
    You get paid every week.
Employees have there own parking lot.
Every Thanksgiving you get like a $25 Stater Bros gift card.
Every Christmas you get a $300 (taxed) bonus.
Sick time, personal time, vacation time. (If they let you use it. They tend to complain when you use it. )
When you get fired, you will win your unemployment. Regardless of what they fire you for.

    Cons

You have to work every holiday! Forever as long as you work there. And they even black out the Super Bowl!!! You will never get the super bowl off as long as you work there.
    Sexual harassment is running wild.
The managers (specifically in cash ops) are scum, corrupt, and protected.
Low pay with like 1-2% raises.
Overbearing employee reviews that can be false. They review you on things that are not even related to your current job position.
You give up your civil rights when you agree to work there. (work there at your own risk.)
The place is generally racist. The indians do not like the workers. Lots of favoritism. The good workers get treated badly, the bad workers get treated good.
They will fire you whenever they feel like it. There is no due process. They write you up, and you just have to take it. Regardless of what is written. So If you break one of their precious policies for forgetting to sign something, or forgetting to write your badge number, you get written up.
No leeway for clocking in. You must be there 7 min early. If you clock in 1 min late, you get punished.
They do not accept Dr's notes. For any reason.
They have a guest service standard...You have to follow the script at all times. You have supervisors, managers, and secret shoppers that are watching you at all times. If you forget, or do not do one part of the script, you get punished. And they post the results in the hallway for all employees to see.
When it gets busy they either delay or sometimes take away one of your breaks.

    Advice to Management

No point in saying anything, The managers are protected, and too corrupt to understand. They don't care about what is right and wrong. They just do what they want to do to there own personal benefit. Not what is best for business.
You are lucky to even have a high paying job and make as much money as you do. You will NEVER have another job that pays this well again.

I have been working at Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

the dog food they sell in the employee dining room in only $3

    Cons

income inequality is really bad here. upper management parking looks like a luxury car lot.
California cost of living is skyrocketing while rich greedy casinos pay their hourly employees
barely minimum wage. some of the elderly people in the kitchen recently got a 5 cent raise.
the independent restaurants in the food court pay their cooks $3.50 more per hour than the Morongo internal kitchen staff.

    Advice to Management

raise the hourly wages...!!! this place is making boatloads of money!
how much more money do you need? share the wealth

I worked at Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Honestly there are two reasons to work here.
    1. Paycheck ( not much but steady)
    2. Benefits

The benefits package is usually very good but through out time they have diminished the amount the company contributes to the benefits package.

    Cons

Structural organization of the company is very political and a lot of the information that is communicated through the proper channels gets lost.
The culture is and departmental cooperation is very poor affecting employee relations in a negative aspect.
Overall the working environment is not desirable and not recommended.

    Advice to Management

Management in general have the ideology of numbers being the main driver of the company. I would suggest and encourage management to look at the employee and develop a better rapport and employee relations with all their team members to better understand what drives your business and company as a whole.
