I worked at Morris, Manning & Martin full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Do not micromanage you, expect you to do your job to the best of your abilities. Great benefits including insurance, profit sharing and generous time off.

    Cons

Upper management getting worse over the years, less and less bonuses etc.

    Advice to Management

Go back to the 17 pillars of success and put them back into use.

    Pros

This was a very entrepreneurial firm with quick advancement potential for some. The firm has a very good client base with a focus on less of the institutional clients of other major law firms.

    Cons

This firm is poorly managed as is still trying to operate as a true partnership despite having to many equity partners to make such an operational framework efficient. The firm management makes no effort to curb unacceptable behaviors of equity partners.

I worked at Morris, Manning & Martin full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Health and insurance benefits offered are pretty good. The work force is older this is very important to have to offer employees, unfortunately the not-so-great employees stay for this reason which makes it difficult to get rid of them.

    Cons

Camaraderie is non-existent. Need to work harder at involving the entire firm in activities and this may foster a better work atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

Management should be more transparent. Being more transparent may give employees more of a forum to voice opinions that may help the firm grow.

    Pros

Mid-size firm. Home office in Chattanooga. Large office in Atlanta. Good culture.

    Cons

Lower salaries, major decisions made in Chattanooga.

    Advice to Management

Chattanooga needs to catch up with the times in terms of minority hiring. Managing partner is difficult to deal with.

    Cons

I have absolutely no complaints about this place. I wish all of the previous firms I work for was this great...I would probably still be there!

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Morris, Manning & Martin full-time

    Pros

I've worked for 7 law firms in my 26 year legal career, and Morris, Manning & Martin by far has the best salaries and benefits for staff. That's probably why staff stay here forever and retire from the firm. I plan to retire from MMM as well! I feel very supported from all departments (HR, Accounting, IT, Marketing) and from management. MMM just can't be beat!

    Cons

I can't think of a single negative, honestly.

I worked at Morris, Manning & Martin full-time

    Pros

Benefits are top drawer, great Buckhead location, and nice decks to enjoy lunch on.

    Cons

No room for growth, non existent HR for staff, large disconnect between attorneys and staff. There's no one really to stand up for you, and gone are the days of moving people around to different teams. Some groups better than others. The no jerk policy went out the window with the recession. I hope things turn around for the positive.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your entire team. Staff help partners make money, they're support and effort should be greater appreciated. What happened to the wonderful culture of the firm?

    Pros

Very good benefits; compensation is just average if you aren't an attorney; generally nice people

    Cons

Staff are second-class citizens; no career path in a law firm if you aren't an attorney; antiquated review process
