    Pros

They manage reputable brands that have been prestigious in St. Paul for years. This name recognition can help when moving on to other hospitality companies.

    Cons

The restaurants, hotels, and their management ideals are outdated. They get upset when new restaurants in up-and-coming neighborhoods are stealing their business but do nothing to change or improve. Splurging on a meal, hotel room, or service in the hospitality industry is no longer desirable and customers regularly complain about over-paying. As an employee, trying to meet quotas can be incredibly challenging when the services are not keeping up with the industry.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at competition as opposed to scoffing at it, their success is a reflection of what the market desires.

    Pros

Working at MHC gave me great exposure to the hospitality industry. It was a great place to learn and build a name for myself.

    Cons

I definitely worked 60+ hour weeks. The pay was not super competitive, the bonus program is not lucrative and can be very difficult to be successful with

    Advice to Management

Do what you can to take care of your valued employees!
