I have been working at Mortgage Connect full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Reasonable compensation if you fight for it

    - Annual performance/compensation review

    - Hard work gets noticed by management

    - Extremely useful skills applicable elsewhere in industry

    Cons

    - Draconian IT policy

    - Workspace customization discouraged

    - 401K matching is extremely frugal

    - Annual downsizing during Jan-Feb lull in banking business means you had better not be the weakest link in your department

    Advice to Management

Allow desktop customization and match more than 20% of 401K contribution. Allow headsets and music at people's workspaces.

I worked at Mortgage Connect full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Quick to hire & most co-workers friendly/helpful (with proper training and experience). Unfortunately the turn over leads the latter low to ground.

    Cons

Unorganized training, management & communication. Overall unexplained changes, unfair & unethical practices all over.

    Advice to Management

Get basic training manuals for each position. Set protocols and standards fair to all. Learn how to manage professionally. Communicate & implement new procedure/tasks, Communication and organization while hiring will save all parties in wasted time.

I have been working at Mortgage Connect full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is absolutely no pros at all unless you want to re-live your high school years with the mean girls club and the class clowns.

    Cons

Lack of knowledge from Managers, account executives, team leads

    Advice to Management

Clean house from management on down. Act professional. This place needs an overhaul. People on cell phones and Facebook. Which in training we were told about this. There are to many chiefs. Workers that are hired have no knowledge of what is going on after countless training.

    Pros

The culture of being a team is one of the best things here at Mortgage Connect! I am new and everyone I have come into contact with is always willing to help a newbie out, the people are the biggest pro to working here. Another great thing about working here is "dress down day" is not limited to just Friday, the dress code is casual and that is a definite perk!

    Cons

Parking, Parking, Parking with the amazing growth Mortgage Connect is experiencing parking is an issue. There is an answer in the works, they have offered an incentive to anyone who will park in a a lot a half a mile away. They also are providing shuttle service to and from the extended parking lot.

    Advice to Management

I am too new to give any meaningful advice to management. It appears to me that they are doing a good job and they are all very vested in make Mortgage Connect a success.

I worked at Mortgage Connect full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I suppose the pay is decent enough, if you need a job. And some of the people that you'll work with are pretty nice.

    Cons

The training that I received was completely irrelevant to the department that I was stepping in to. Once I was on the floor, my in-department training consisted of shadowing someone else for two days while they worked on accounts with tasks I would be responsible for. Once set on my own, I would consistently get yelled at for not doing things that no one had told me to do. I was constantly being held accountable for things that had never been explained to me, and treated like I should have known the entire time. My department had no written procedures to fall back on, either.

    Advice to Management

You need to train your people better before you start coming down on them for not doing things. Also, written procedures are a MUST for every department!
