Residents and attending a are very open minded to interdisciplinary suggestions for patient care improvement. Almost daily lunch provided at Turley with almost daily lunchtime presentations.

    Cons

I have been working at Morton Plant Mease Healthcare full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people work as a team, helping one another to achieve the BayCare goals.

    Cons

In my particular job, absolutely no autonomy, micro micro managed.

    Advice to Management

Everyone should follow the company values, dignity respect, responsibility, excellence, and trust. Management needs to take a look at micro management of the diabetes center or they will continue to lose good CDE's. The dignity and respect are violated daily.

I worked at Morton Plant Mease Healthcare full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Offers a place for a graduate nurse to learn under the care of many mentors. Provides a safe environment in which continuous quality improvement is encouraged. Many educational opportunities both in-house and financial compensation for out-of-house.

    Cons

Healthcare workers with high standards of care must learn to navigate the current of workers with lower standards of care, at times. There can be territorial defensive personality types in critical care, high stress environments.

    Advice to Management

Should have mandatory random drug testing for all employees. Research shows that healthcare professionals have a higher rate of addiction than that of the general population, approaching at times, twenty percent. Early intervention is key to future success.

    Pros

Designated Magnet status makes Morton Plant Hospital a wonderful place to grow and learn as a nurse. You are encouraged to learn and expand your knowledge with much support from management and community resources.

    Cons

One of the downsides of working at Morton Plant is that because it is so large, nurses are often are not aware of who their senior management team is and are afraid to contact them with concerns.

    Advice to Management

Please continue to foster education, autonomy and growth of the nurses who work at Morton Plant. Also, compensate long term employees for their loyalty and hard work
