I have been working at Motorola Mobility full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

If you put your time in, make a name for yourself, you'll be able to somewhat pick the projects you get to work on. I've been lucky enough to work on the things that are challenging and interesting. There truly are some really great Engineers here and you'll make great contacts for the future. The work schedule is flexible, benefits are great, the building/location is awesome, and they pay is absurdly high.

    Cons

There is no real long-term vision - everything seems guided towards the next earnings release. Still operates as if there are tens of thousands of people here. The process overhead can be overwhelming.

    Advice to Management

Honestly, just give up; its a losing battle. Nobody working that's left has any faith in what you say or sense of loyalty at this point. I also don't even know who management is these days, you change every 6-months and there are so many layers I stopped caring.

    Advice to Management

Work on a retention plan and level pay and benefits with the industry standard.

I have been working at Motorola Mobility full-time

    Pros

Very talented coworkers. Cutting edge technology to work on. Facilities that were built by Google.

    Cons

Can't make a profit. Only solution SLT has is to continually lay off workers and outsource products to ODMs. Won't invest in the business in terms of advertising & marketing to make innovative products known to customers.

    Advice to Management

The next round of layoffs will be the final death blow to a once incredible engineering powerhouse.
