    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Motorola Mobility full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Interesting programs, vast infrastructure (sales, marketing, engineering, R&D, etc.), very competitive pay, very good benefits, VERY TALENTED people. Great location in the Merchandise Mart in Chicago.

    Cons

1.) Well, if you're not a techie you're at a disadvantage. Even in non-engineering roles, there is a (deserved?) prejudice toward people with technical backgrounds. 2.) Up until it was acquired, first by Google, then Lenova, things were pretty grim with constant downsizing. Over my 21 years there it went from a peak of 150,000 people to below 20,000. Some big chunks of this were from selling off whole divisions, but a lot was from plain old layoffs. It's such a competitive product space with Apple and Samsung as your main competition.

    Advice to Management

Once and for all right size and then stop laying people off.
