    Pros

Great people, great products, and people in the line business are committed to success. Good sales teams and large share of the equipment business in key markets.

    Cons

Poor senior leadership, short term focused, lack the ability to articulate a vision and then deliver on that vision.

    Advice to Management

Become a wireless solutions company, and build a end to end solutions business. That means applications, consulting, and end to end integration services.

    Pros

Motorola Solutions has long and proud history of innovation in the public safety related communications products. The company has a great work culture. People have great respect for each other.

    Cons

Company needs to accelerate innovation and promote more creativity from within. Complacency among some of its groups will be detrimental for the company. It needs to be much ahead of its competitors to retains its market share.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to create new programs that encourages and promotes innovation in both business models as well as in grassroots technology.

    Pros

Experience working in a large, corporate environment.

    Cons

LOTS of redtape!! I understand it is difficult for a large corporation to remove some of the issues with internal teams working with one another, but the company can be so much more efficient!

    Pros

Flexible schedule, decent benefits compared to the market, Pay is good if you can get in at a high level, just don't expect a raise. Some niche product teams seem to have good managers and collaboration.

    Cons

One of the worst environments I have ever worked in. There is no collaboration because you have to look better than your peers or be rated as a bad performer. Going to work everyday is like going to war. Lots of back stabbing and e-mail flame wars. If you miss spell a word in an e-mail the guy next to you will point it out to a list of managers. Good luck if you ever make a honest mistake. Half of my day is spent perfecting e-mails so that they don't get used politically. You're afraid to ask questions because that is a sign that you're not as good a performer as your peers.

Managers have too much power over employees. One bad review and you will never be able to find a new job within the company. My manager criticized me for taking a vacation in my year end review and actually typed it into the report.

The company is now finding ways lay people off without paying severance. A test engineer in the Astro department was put on a Performance Improvement Plan and let go within a few month. They got no severance and now having trouble getting unemployment benefits. Then a week later you see the same position posted on Career Builder.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to change the culture immediately before this company becomes completely irrelevant. You don't go from #1 in the cell phone market to #7 for no reason. You need to hire smart people from the start instead of rank and yanking employees. Don't even get me started on the executive pay.

    Pros

The dynamic new leadership of the company as well as the vision and excitement of all employees is a sign that the once great company is again entering a growth mode.

    Cons

The constant change and the downsizing of the company over past five years has been challenging and has had a negative impact on employee morale.
