    Pros

From a technology skills development point of view and depending on which part of the organisation you work in, this is a great company to work for.
The people I worked with were some of the most talented Engineers in the world.
The offices where I was located were good and we had all the tools and resources we needed to do our job.

    Cons

Senior management are too focused on short term profits (wooing the shareholders and bean-counters).
Every six months there is a reorganisation and you find yourself with a new (and sometimes lousy) manager - an absolute lack of consistent leadership.
As a result, quality has suffered tremendously in the last few months - constant stream of buggy software changes in the teams and people coming and going.
The appraisal system known as Performance Management is used as a punishment tool by certain managers.

    Advice to Management

You lack long term vision - at least this is not clear and understandable for all employees.
    Make quality your focus.
Reduce costs by fixing your quality and not by laying off/outsourcing people.
You need bring back Chris Galvin.

I worked at Motorola Solutions as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Work Culture is amazing , managers are not on your neck to get the work done , lot of freedom to complete the task in your own way and amazing training with more focus on quality

    Cons

It cannot be called as con but being at the top of your work is important to keep up with the rest of the team though you will be helped if you are lagging behind

    Advice to Management

Google , Facebook and other companies offer free food and other goodies to their employees maybe add something innovative to make it the best place to work .

I have been working at Motorola Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a secure job position that allows opportunities to innovate. The office is okay, well lit and temperature controlled but bland. Gives many opportunities to travel and to try your hand at other skills such as customer facing roles.

    Cons

Training is minimal. There are old fashioned and outdated engineering processes. Seems very hierarchical which means promotions and pay rises are scarce and minimal.

    Advice to Management

Update. Learn engineering methodologies from the best: Google etc. Waterfall was introduced as an example of a bad methodology, not a good one. Outsourcing is not the best solution most of the time. Start a graduate program.
