    Pros

Great people to work with. Exciting jobs that make a difference in the communities

    Cons

Every one is working with this cloud (layoffs) over their head leading to negative work environment, fear to dare, thus lost of creativity
Will not get promoted if you do not have connection to upper management

    Advice to Management

    1) Focus on your greatest asset and the revenue will follow
    2) Make sure internal positions are fairly advertised and that everyone has a fair chance to be interviewed and to get the job (if qualified), not just managers' buddies
    3) Most employees are working with this cloud (layoffs) over their head, which leads to negative work environment, the fear to dare, thus lost of creativity

I have been working at Motorola Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Only pro is free snacks

    Cons

You're not really a sales person. Depending on the territory they give you you will meet your quota. Most sales come from run rate making some people look good and others looking bad. Management likes to make promises that they have no intention on following through with. If this is your first job out of college go for it but if not stay away.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and learn how to do your employees jobs.

    Pros

Innovative company in the late 90's early 2000's

    Cons

Not nearly nimble enough in a fast moving technological world

    Advice to Management

Rather than placing emphasis on getting the stock price up, focus on innovation, focus on technology, focus on the future, and focus on your employees...without them, your dead in the water

I have been working at Motorola Solutions full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fortune 500 company with healthy stock price. Good portfolio of equipment and serivces

    Cons

Senior Leadership has lost connection with the average worker. There is no longer a clear direction for the company as it seems the CEO is only interested in sizing the company for sale to get a significant bonus. The older workers, those with 10 plus years of service, are few and far between now

    Advice to Management

Get to know ALL of your employees and not just the "best and brightest" that you apparently do not believe you employ currently. You are overlooking a significant opportunity with employees that have spent most of their working lives at your company

I have been working at Motorola Solutions full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good PTO benefits
    Newly remodeled buildings

    Cons

Poor culture resulting from five years of constant layoffs and cutbacks
Relentless push for shareholder value at the expense of everything else
Shipped over half of their engineers overseas
Poor raises, average only 2% each year. This year most will get no raise.
Overall product quality is going in the wrong direction

    Advice to Management

Overall I think MSI has lost critical mass and does not have the ability to innovate like they used to. Poor raises, constant cutbacks, relentless push for shareholder value, poor quality, and endless layoffs have created a cynical culture.
