I have been working at Mount Auburn Hospital full-time

    Pros

Mount Auburn Hospital has long, tenured staff because it is a friendly, community based hospital that strives to create a culture of wellbeing for its employees. Excellent patient-centered culture.

    Cons

Multiple job responsiblities, must be able to multi-task and be a self-starter and willing to work without annual reviews.

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent and engaged with the employees, top down participation and engagement. Bring back employee recognition process to motivate superior patient-centered care.

I have been working at Mount Auburn Hospital full-time

    Pros

i really see no reason to work here, no Pros. I stay on to collect my check, cut corners and leave early. no one knows how many hours i work, so its easy to scam this place

    Cons

just do not work here if you have any aspirations, work ethic or ambition. Also, they say they dont have any money to pay salaries, except for the collection of fossilized dinosaurs they employ all over the place, collecting fat salaries and doing zero work. scared of disrupting the delicate balance of garbage flowing around this place. meanwhile, CEO is highest compensated in New England.

    Advice to Management

keep looking the other way while i rob this joint....

I worked at Mount Auburn Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Community hospital feel with academic scent. Convenient to Harvard Sq. Public transit access not bad, cafeteria decent. Nice view of Charles river(there, 20 words!)

    Cons

Vertical corporate structure. Middle management unqualified, Peter principle victims. Territorial micro managers abound. Human Resources is the worst. Annual reviews are a waste of time, no one reads them and no merit raises anyway. Parking is mainly offsite with shuttle bus, and we get charged for that ?!

    Advice to Management

Stagnation is lethal, turnover is painful but vital.

I worked at Mount Auburn Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good vacation time. Benefits are satisfactory.

    Cons

Project management team is completely out of touch with what their analysts are doing. They set unrealistic expectations and assign pointless tasks.
Employees are extremely unhappy and analysts are leaving constantly. Management does nothing to retain employees. Operations takes no ownership for their tasks and uses Epic team as a scapegoat for issues. Epic team management does not defend analysts and they often break under pressure from operations. Pay for analysts is extremely below market value. Certain teams are overstaffed and they do not need to be and others desperately need employees. Any Epic certified analysts should look for job opportunities elsewhere. Would not recommend to any Epic analyst.

    Advice to Management

Re-evaluate your project management team. Every analyst that I worked with questioned their competence. Teams are mismanaged and need more structure. There needs to be a defined barrier between operations and the Epic team. Right now, the Epic team works at the beck and call of operations and the management does nothing to change that.
