I worked at Mountain America Credit Union part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Sharing knowledge about credit and a helping others obtain the things that they want or need.

    Cons

Being pressured to get customers to bring their loans from other institutions to MACU.

    Advice to Management

Favoritism and nepotism is a problem that has made its way into the organizational structure from the VP level down. It is a problem with those employees who originated from Wells Fargo and brought over their practices.

I have been working at Mountain America Credit Union part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

great benefits, caring staff who wants you to excel, and wonderful people to work with.

    Cons

pay could be better, cross selling products can be difficult if that isn't your specialty, customers/members can sometimes be a pain to work with, but that is any customer service based job.

    Advice to Management

Don't expect perfection when coming right out of training, starting a new job is like taking a drink out of a fire hose and new hires are already stressed as is.

    Pros

Fantastic Work Life Balance! Management is the best in the industry hands down. Wonderful corporate culture. Various growth opportunities.

    Cons

Generally Credit Unions do not offer competitive pay but make up for it in perks. Which works great, unless the cost of housing doubles in your state..then perks don't make up for being hungry. :/ Not their fault, but still a bummer.

    Advice to Management

The Credit Union is growing and an insane rate. I think they're doing just fine.
