I worked at Mountaire Farms full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    consistent work
    Lots of overtime if overnight

    Cons

    wage is too little
was working an average of 70 hours per week as a loader sometimes more, making balancing life outside work difficult.
    cant help but feel exploited

    Advice to Management

most of the cons can be outweighed by a higher wage.

I have been working at Mountaire Farms full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Profit sharing, yearly raises of 3%. (No matter how hard you work youre only getting 3%, just like the guy that dont work hard: 3%) Insurance is ok, weekly paycheck with some overtime.

    Cons

Compensation is lacking, even by the area its about $2 off per hour. Managers are all for themselves and their bonuses. One location gets family days, picnics, ballgames and various prizes throughout the year, while our locations dont. Even department standards vary. Truck drivers are spoiled. They win TVs, Riding Lawn mowers with a trailer, gift cards, they get gold watches with diamonds, rings. They also get t-shirts, hats and hoodies multiple times a year.

    Advice to Management

Compensate you're employees better and at least tell them once in a while thanks for making it where you get your bonus. Corporate needs to create a standard between all locations. If a truck driver can win a lawn mower, I want a chance to.

I worked at Mountaire Farms full-time

    Pros

They pay weekly and the work is easy.

    Cons

The point system that they have in place is ridiculous. They send you home and give you a point if your blood pressure goes up. They give you a point even if you have a doctor's note.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the point system and stop firing good workers over things they have no control over.
