I worked at Movado Group full-time

    Pros

It's an excellent opportunity to develop as a professional, and the company provides the tools in order for you to succeed, but growth is limited.

    Cons

Company is stuck in their old ways. For a $500m + company, it's run like an old start up. There is also a favoritism for certain departments, and if you are not involved with said certain departments, opportunity is limited.

    Advice to Management

Treat others as you would want to be treated.

I have been working at Movado Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits for full time associates. 1%~4% sales commissions depends how much you made sale. You get 2% when you reached $150,000, 3% for $300,000 and 4% over $400,000

    Cons

Get only 34 -35 hours a week for full time. Lots of drama over the sales. Too many employees of teenagers.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes and listen for your employees.

    Pros

Earn up to 5% commission, competitive pay, and low level of difficulty.

    Cons

Corporate does not tend to listen/respond to feedback in a timely manner.

    Can become extremely monotonous.

    Advice to Management

Listen to those people who experience shifts in business directly. Their feedback is usually bemeficial.

I worked at Movado Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friends and Family vibe, nice to have the owners and C-level management "mix-in" with all workers, watch discount, oversees travel (if you like to travel)

    Cons

    - Oversees travel (if you don't like to travel)
    - Depending on the group your in and your manager will determine whether you like it and survive
    - Low morale but everyone "sticks in there"
    - Lack of budget for training

    Advice to Management

Senior Management should be held accountable for when a member of the Management team is the cause of high turnover in their group and nothing is done about it. At that point you are forcing good employees out.

I have been working at Movado Group part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay, commission structure, benefits, overall generous company

    Cons

    Retail hours, competition with coworkers

    Advice to Management

While commission structure is an individual incentive, switching to a group based commission structure would condone greater teamwork and improve employee relations in stores.

    Cons

Slow pace - felt super dated. Very corporate and just not for young people.

    Advice to Management

    Be innovative

I worked at Movado Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, opportunities to advance, incentives for performance. Above average hourly pay rate.

    Cons

Some store level mangers don't provide sufficient training and support, corporate is sadly out of touch with store level challenges, not enough oversight of store managers. If sales numbers are good, they can get away with poor behavior and policy violations.

    Advice to Management

Corporate level personnel should spend at least a week in stores to better understand the challenges. Consider associates POV, more oversight of store manager performance and efficacy.
