    Pros

Excellent people to work with. Movado manufacturers a variety of watches low to high prices.

    Cons

changing work schedules, working on weekends and holidays and low pay.

    Advice to Management

Please take a look at the low commission rate offered versus the competition.Perhaps more monthly spiffs to compensate for lower earnings.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Movado Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Watch discounts
Some executives are very smart and they can teach you a lot

    Cons

People in Design and PDPM departments very unmotivated and unhappy
    Lots of politics
Talent doesn't matter as much as brown nosing. There are people who have become manager-VP in a matter of 3 years without having actual experience. What matter is "Who" you know in the club vs "What" you know.
VPs in the design and pdpm departments back stab each other and people underneath them
You are golden if you can spend hours and hours in a executive's office during after hours talking dirty politics and brown nosing

    Advice to Management

Nothing. They have been doing things the same way for generations .
The company is stalled with same people at the top for several years
Head winds are strong.. Survival is difficult with this culture and leadership

I worked at Movado Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The only good thing is access to watches at a discount. Not many other pros other than enjoyed working with some of the people in the various departments in the company.

    Cons

The president of the outlet division is a narcissist who enjoys micromanaging, measuring every KPI, and demeaning employees on conference calls. If you're not in the clique, you will feel left out. They want you to take ownership of the store, but you can't deviate from the policies and procedures even when trying to satisfy a customer. Sales pressure is ridiculously high and you're expected to make sales increases while traffic is down and the company is tanking and while being tasked with many other things. The commission is a joke. The POS is seriously outdated even though it was replaced a few years ago. There is no growth or succession planning and they will hire from the outside.

    Advice to Management

Stop living in the dark ages and recognize the talented people you have working there. Get rid of the blatant favoritism and treat everyone fairly.

I have been working at Movado Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

By far one of the best companies I've worked for. Been in retail for more than 10 years. Starting salary is great. Benefits kicks in after 90 days; medical, dental, vision. And they even offer 401k not only for full time associates but also for part timers (amazing right?) on top of your salary you get paid commission (now that's a plus!) not all retailers offer that. I would love to retire with this company. I enjoy working here so much. The management is great and along with the rest of the associates I would say everyone is very professional and well trained.

    Cons

I love working here so much that I can't think of anything bad about this company.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for the opportunity. And keep doing what you are doing. Best of luck and many more successful years to come!

    Cons

    Pros

Great benefits, opportunities to advance, incentives for performance. Above average hourly pay rate.

    Cons

Some store level mangers don't provide sufficient training and support, corporate is sadly out of touch with store level challenges, not enough oversight of store managers. If sales numbers are good, they can get away with poor behavior and policy violations.

    Advice to Management

Corporate level personnel should spend at least a week in stores to better understand the challenges. Consider associates POV, more oversight of store manager performance and efficacy.

I worked at Movado Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Small corporate structure enabling access you wouldnt normally have with larger retailers. Competetive pay structure

    Cons

Where to start...zero opportunity for advancement beyond Store Manager. Poor training structure with very outdated material. No room for learning from mistakes and no assistance available when it comes to unfamiliar issues. High pressure atmosphere. President of the outlet retail division micro manages everything and has zero people skills...elitist with the wrong background to be heading up a retail division of an organization.

    Advice to Management

Steal shamelessly from other successful retail companies in order to improve on people relations.
