    Pros

Work Family culture allows you to work and still go home at at the end of the day. Overtime is frequent, if desired to work.

    Cons

Insurance benefits aren’t great. Every quarter since early 2018, there have been companywide layoffs.

I worked at Movement Mortgage full-time

    Pros

Outstanding processing and underwriting - really fast approvals are possible. The company has great values and treats people well.

    Cons

Commission grid is similar to a bank but rates offered to the consumer are on the high side.

    Advice to Management

Management is very savvy and there is a reason for everything - managing a mortgage lending company is a big challenge right now.

I have been working at Movement Mortgage full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company was a complete 360 from some of my past, it's much more comforting and not as much talking behind peoples backs. They really help you get where you want to be and it's easy to make moves into new roles if you're willing to show that you're growing yourself for them. Some reviews have complaints about religion being shoved in peoples faces. That's not true at all, they simply state that loving your God and believing in yourself and your community can take you to great heights in your career as well as family life. They truly care for the community and have a lot of opportunity for you to help be a part of a greater cause by donating your time and helping the less fortunate. They give out a lot of nice breakfasts for their employees as well as the occasional lunch. It's free and so nice to walk into some mornings, we're very lucky to have them.

    Cons

People tinkle on the toilet seats a lot

    Advice to Management

    Don't change, stay the course.

"A good company if you want to be an average employee"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Movement Mortgage full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you are in the right position, decent monthly bonus opportunity.

    Cons

The middle level management does a poor job of executing the upper level management's ideas. They do not know how to manage people which creates a conflicting view point of their "we love and value people" culture. Also, this company is so mission/no-profit (when they are a for profit company) oriented, sometimes it clouds their judgment on fundamental business direction and allocation of money. If you show up to work, do your work and that's all you want to do, this company would be good for you.

I have been working at Movement Mortgage full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

6% 401k match, nice building to work in.

    Cons

Continuing layoffs in smaller numbers. No year end bonus or cost of living raises this year. Everyone on pins and needle’s. Management has stopped being transparent about anything with the employees. Lots of management closed-door meetings with no information to employees.Rumors of restructuring, but not being addressed.

    Advice to Management

Top levels of management should meet directly with the employees without middle managers present, to discuss ways to make things better or just to share information about the direction the company is taking, without fear of reprisal if employees speak up with questions or concerns. Upper management should not only speak to the middle-management ,who have their own agendas .

I worked at Movement Mortgage full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The idea of making an uncapped commission on my sales, and the opportunity to learn new aspects of the business.

    Cons

Extremely sensitive micromanaging leader. Simply could not do their job in a successful manner and was celebrated when they went home sick or took time off. The "culture" wasn't for me, as I am not religious. Realistically, it was the same as every other gossip-filled small office full of employees.

    Advice to Management

Just let people do their jobs and not force them to participate in every little thing going on. Oh, and pay them more....because you're way under market.
