I have been working at Mueller Industries full-time

    Pros

Great flexibility. The work day starts between 7 and 8:30 am.

    Cons

Men normally get promotions with pay increases while women tend to get lateral moves without any pay increases.

    Advice to Management

Without the ladiesthe company would fail.

I worked at Mueller Industries full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Yes we get health insurance. However it isn't always enough. Dental only covers one thousand dollars. They do not cover the entire cost of insurance.

    Cons

Work here is labor intensive. Lots of lifting. Very hot days in summer. Very cold in winter. You have to wear hardhats and steel toe shoes. Bonuses are a joke.

    Advice to Management

Management does not care about the employees. Those of us that do all the labor are nothing but a number. 98% of Management need to be replaced.

I worked at Mueller Industries full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A weight room on-site. Hard to come up with any others. I hear it used to be a decent place to work under the previous CEO about 10 years ago.

    Cons

So many. Terrible pay, well below average and without raises or promotion opportunities. A "top performer" (which is usually an attractive young female) will get the high raise of a whopping 2%. Insurance benefits are terrible (the company is self-insured) and management often screams and yells at employees. I can't believe the way they treat people and bully them in front of others. They cut corners at every turn and even turn off the A/C during the evenings when you are stuck working OT. Bonus plan is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes! Care more about your employees and less about padding your wallets.

I worked at Mueller Industries full-time

    Pros

Some of the employees are nice.

    Cons

This company prides itself on underpaying their employees and expects overtime (with little to no compensation) from the ones who want to rise up in the company. The work environment is horrible and I was stressed the entire time I worked there.

    Pros

    There are no lay offs.

    Cons

Permanent employees who leave are replaced by temps. No promotions offered unless you are in the field of sales.

    Pros

Mueller is a great place to gain work experience.
Most Mueller employees are great to work with.

    Cons

Mueller operates very lean which is great for investors, but tough on employees.
Mueller does not offer many advancement opportunities.

I have been working at Mueller Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I can't think of any pros.

    Cons

Lack of leadership. More duties added but no change in pay. Management is out of touch with the employees, they only care about their bonuses. Top heavy!

    Advice to Management

Management should attempt to speak with the employees and find out why so many are leaving the company.

    Pros

    Solid company with stable prospects.

    Cons

Not growing much or quickly, so personal growth suffers as there isn't much chance to move up.

I have been working at Mueller Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Not many. It's a job I guess.

    Cons

Too many to list: low pay, well below average, insurance goes with no cost of living raise in at least 3 years. Management is militaristic, will not engage or even speak to regular employees (unless you are a young female), long hours, leaving you dead tired, in the summer (no air) the heat is stifling and oppressive. Of course, offices have A/C. Breaks are too short, bonus plan is a joke.

    Advice to Management

None that they'll listen to. I believe most of the positive reviews were written by them in an attempt to counter all the negative ones.
