I have been working at Mueller Water Products full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Midsize company with great products, decent pay, great training program, some family owned style traits. Salary increases annually. Decent 401k match, insurance coverage, and 2 weeks vacation.

    Cons

Becoming more corporate, more concerned about shareholders than employees at times. Difficult to progress with limited positions.

    Advice to Management

Communicate vision and goals from the executive level, communication from management team was lackluster.

I have been working at Mueller Water Products full-time

    Pros

No matter the if the job is hourly or salary it pays well but that is the only pro unless you are a senior manager.

    Cons

Management continues to make poor decisions that do not make since and communication is barley useful. The culture and moral of the place is very low and all emphasis is on cost and product out the door and not on quality. Lean is implemented backwards.

    Advice to Management

Take your time to change things. Quit worry about how much money and time are spent on the project. Just put a solid process or equipment in place and hold to it and don't stop following your process when you get behind because that is the only way to identify the flaws in the process and fix it down the road.

    Pros

I do not have any pros.

    Cons

Revolving door. Nobody is accountable for anything. Raises are slim and no bonuses. They expect you to come in early, work through lunch and stay late, yet question when you want to leave an hour early.

    Advice to Management

Hold each department accountable. Learn the definition of teamwork and not each department and location as it's own island.

    Pros

It's a product that everyone needs

    Cons

They are always looking to fire their people instead of developing them. Gestapo mentality. Their management just flat out lies to people. The site I was at had a whole new cycle of people in just two years. HR is really poor and thrives on screwing people. Unsafe working conditions.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the ivory tower in Tennessee and the do nothing inhabitants if you really want to save money. Hopefully the new CEO will clean house. I thought they were on the right path with good leadership hires but they have all found out their number and left.
