    Pros

Campus, cafeteria, makes money despite itself.

    Cons

Cuts and more cuts to benefits. leadership is stale. seems stuck in the past, claims to be innovative but with staff that has been there for 20 to 30 years on average, it's just a ploy to get customers from a dry pool. Median age of employee is in the low 50s. Sightings of Millennials is rare. Closely networked employees are the only ones who get promos, gridlocked organization due to legacy/older employees.

    Advice to Management

Diversity is big talk, hire people from outside the industry and you may begin to see what diversity is. Loyalty to the legacy worker isn't helping anyone. The need to clean house is evident.

I worked at Munich Re full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Munich Re has a great company benefit package, beautiful campus, nice cafeteria and awesome gym.

    Cons

There is a collection of under 40year old individuals pre selected to fill future promotional positions. Otherwise, it is near impossible to progress in a career path.

    Advice to Management

Re-evaluate the effect on morale that the advancement program is having on others.

I have been working at Munich Re full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible workplace; tremendously involved with employee engagement - and building upon solid work environment.

Beautiful campus with top-notch employee fitness center (free) and on-site wellness center.

Among the most progressive workplaces I've encountered in my professional career; and genuine about making strides toward further improvement.

Active in local community, whether through charity work or financial contribution.

    Cons

Complicated workflow, depending on your individual area of involvement. MANY moving parts, between primary and reinsurance.

Face-time between departments is a must, otherwise you're just a name on correspondence.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Munich RE is a great place to get involved.
