I have been working at Munroe Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Getting needed expansions and upgrades to facility.

    Cons

New C-suite and corporate used to managing a 100-200 bed hospital and can't wrap head around the difference that a 420 bed hospital provides. Think that their "recipe for running a hospital" will fit in all sizes and areas.

    Advice to Management

Truly listen to your staff. Some long timers have seen MANY changes and attempts to improve patient care that may have not worked. Don't make changes just because that"s how all CHS hospitals do it. Truly evaluate the current process and see if the changes will push us backwards or propel is forward.

    Pros

Good alliance with co-workers and other employees throughout the hospital. Positive atmosphere. Always busy. Never a dull moment.

    Cons

when I left the hospital was going into a leased contract with CHS. This turned MRMC from a not for profit hospital to a for profit. I saw a lot of people losing their jobs and the turn over was outrageous. My manager said to bail if I could and I did and I have no regrets since I have friends that still work there and I do not hear very many positive aspects for being an employee there anylonger.

I have been working at Munroe Regional Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great Care. Exceptional nurses.

    Cons

Bullies in some leadership positions. House supervisor is rude, obnoxious & a bully. Has been know to make racist remarks & then say, "But You Know I Love You". Law suit waiting to happen

    Advice to Management

Do exit interviews to figure out why so many nurses are leaving. You're short staffed for a reason. Your support services staff are leaving because they are disrespected by nurses & your House Supervisor.

I worked at Munroe Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

For motivated people with good work ethic MRMC has a system that allows you to not only advance in the company but also assists you in continuing your education in your choose field so that more opportunities are available to you.

    Cons

Through various changes in management and executive structures over the years there can be a sense of disorganization and complacency.

    Advice to Management

Come together as a team and find out what the employees need and want and try to implement structures that improve employee satisfaction. I would also suggest a performance based system throughout the corporation.
