I worked at Murphy Oil part-time

    Pros

The staffing on the comapany as a whole are very nice people.

    Cons

They really didnt spend time on training me . they also have a pump system in where customers can pump gas before paying , not all people are honest and you do have drive -offs and at times when this happens managment gets upset for which you really have no control over that system. also when i worked for this company during my time there in my "newbie" stage i made mistakes and was not corrected on the mistakes leading to futher more mistakes on which i was unaware i was making.

    Advice to Management

Look in changing the post -pump system to not only save the company from loss but to also give some relief to employees to where there not feeling there working to job postions as cashier and security guard.

I worked at Murphy Oil full-time

    Pros

It WAS a good technical experience working with contractors - not employees!

    Cons

They show long term incentives (vested at 3 yrs.), but you will never make it that long. They fire people without any respect. You will be totally dispensable!!!

    Advice to Management

Keep (and) treat people as we are 'human beens' not as a way to reduce cost. People / experts feed your the information you need to make your 'big decisions'. Value people for their performance, promote them for what they do, not just if they are mormons or not.
