I worked at Murphy Oil full-time

    Pros

This company is usually a viable company to work for under normal conditions.

    Cons

This company is poorly managed with a retroactive approach to challenges and growth. They do not value employees and have no idea what each part of the organization is doing at any given time. Very poor career development.

    Advice to Management

Take more of an interest in valuing and rewarding loyal and hard working employees- giving everyone the opportunity to grow with and contribute to the company.

I worked at Murphy Oil (Less than a year)

    Pros

Murphy Oil has a formal, but very friendly atmosphere. The company really cares about its employees and its community and has good benefits programs.

    Cons

The company culture at the corporate headquarters is very conservative which may be a turn off for some job seekers. Additionally, the company can sometimes be a bit behind the curve when it comes to technology.

I have been working at Murphy Oil full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I am able to preform my duties without anyone looking over my shoulder and micro-managing me.

    Cons

Management makes 'off-the-cuff' decisions without thinking them through. There is a large wall put up between upper and lower management. No advice is requested and unsolicited advice is unwelcomed.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people when you make changes within the business that effect their lives outside of work. If you are not willing to make those changes yourself then they, most likely, will not be willing to make them either.

I worked at Murphy Oil part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Easy job to get if you are desperate

    Cons

Part time only unless you become a manager. Kiosk stores you have no help so cleaning, stocking, and counting inventory becomes challenging, no lunch breaks and bathroom breaks depend on how busy it is

    Advice to Management

If you want quality employees to stick around, maybe you should treat their employees as expendable
