I have been working at Murphy USA full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Meeting great customers daily, being able to move around, and having great employees to work with. Not too many more pros due to major changes from the corporate office. The company is caring less and less about the employees but care more about money.

    Cons

No lunches, barely breaks. Work alone often, constantly cleaning up after customers, drive offs, keeping up with SOPs, and hours being cut because of new procedures. Pay isn't that great for the risk we are putting our life's in.

    Advice to Management

Come work a day at one of the store locations and see for yourself how difficult it is to have great customer service, complete all SOPs, upsell constantly, and complete most of the daily chore task alone.

    Pros

Great culture w excellent leadership. Communication was better than most organizations I've worked for. Lots of training and development including tuition reimbursement. The benefits were very good. Was the best experience I've ever had.

    Cons

Lots of shooting from the hip and knee jerk policy changes. Little testing on new processes rolled out. Expense control wasn't a priority and hurt profitability.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on the people. Great company to work for.

    Pros

Good organization at the upper levels, my District Manager was always helpful.

    Cons

This company is trying to get the most work with not as much money going to the employees, I understand that plan but sometimes they would take it to the extreme

    Advice to Management

Think about ways to retain employees, if you can't do that something is amiss.

I have been working at Murphy USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people that work here are nice. It's not super hard. Also, anyone who is full or part time gets vacation hours. You are able to move up in the company, and you get a 25 cent raise every year.

    Cons

It can be stressful at times like any job working with the public. The amount of hours you get are not good at all until you become an assistant manager.

    Advice to Management

The amount of labor hours alloted per week is not enough to have a completely well running store. Assistant managers don't make enough for all they are expected to do. Also the way vacation hours are calculated isn't very good. I have worked at Murphys for 2 years and been an assistant for 1 and only got 4 days vacation time, and I get 37-40 hours a week, and work 5-6 days a week. Vacation should be a set amount of days a year according to how long you have worked for the company.

I worked at Murphy USA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The employees you work with are great and it's always fun. The training is not hard. It's mostly videos and you have to answer questions about the video. The types of customers you meet are always interesting and the work shift goes by fast. It's very easy work.

    Cons

They expected a single person to do pretty much everything. Everyday when I left my shift I never finished everything my manager wanted. It was impossible since it was always busy and you're the only person there for a good while. And even though they did train you there was some things you learned on the job that no one has even mentioned. It was very frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Train your employees very thoroughly and put more employees on the same shift. It would make the business run smoothly and make your customers and employees more happier.

I worked at Murphy USA part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Environment, Team Work, Common Sense Policy, and is a good way to force people to be more responsible.

    Cons

The job can get lonely, and sometimes you will have a lot to do and not enough time to finish everything. Lottery.

    Advice to Management

Try to train entry level employees and answer their questions.
