    Pros

Great projects, smart people, decent benefits, ESOP is dope. Decent 401k. The company christmas party is amazing. You really feel like family.a

    Cons

Long hours, management can be out of touch with what's real. Sometimes you cab feel like another number. If you aren't in the in crowd you get forgotten about. Why aren't there any black people in management?

    Advice to Management

I love Murray but let's add some more color to the upper management.

I worked at Murray Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is a large company with quite a bit of capitol so they can keep making mistakes and continue to survive,

    Cons

Old school abusive management operating without a clue. Accepts jobs without a working budget or understanding of clear scope and demands a cost to complete based on no information. Management does not share any information because they have no input to give without looking inept.

    Advice to Management

The reviews given are all by interns, what an excellent source of misinformation....

I worked at Murray Company as an intern

    Pros

The free lunches during meetings, many friendly people, and there is always determination for learning and exploring more when there.

    Cons

The only negative parts to working there, is that you have to be well rounded, just in case of others shortcomings, so its just a little more stress on some than others.

    Advice to Management

Despite the fact the company's' goals are ethically high standard, but organization of work is really to be considered as well to make things run smoothly in the company.

    Pros

The work environment is very good and there are great people who care about your success. There is a lot of evolvement through different ESOP events to become more familiar with your co-workers. The people are really what sets this company apart from the rest I really enjoy the working environment.

    Cons

Upper Management can be a bit snobby at times. There are some people who do not speak around the office until the need something. It brings the morale down a bit and makes the job less exciting.

    Advice to Management

Upper Management in all departments should be less snobby and more friendly to their co-workers. If they can do that they will be able to motivate their team and work will get done faster and their will be less resentment around the office. I stress please do not act above everyone else because motivation is power and if you can get everyone on the same page it will make the flow of things that much better.

    Pros

Estimating department is a family and everyone works hard together.

    Cons

Upper management is always pushing jobs on the Estimating Department that we probably shouldn't be doing.

    Advice to Management

Hire more estimators for your agenda and let the Estimating Department focus on bringing jobs in for the company.

I have been working at Murray Company full-time

    Pros

Decent pay, great benefits (health insurance monthly premium 100% paid), Spared-no-expense company events

    Cons

Fairly constant sexist conversations among male employees, semi-regular temper tantrums thrown by several senior employees (all the way to the top). Senior and even mid-level positions are entrenched by 10-20+ year employees, so there is zero opportunity for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Career corporate employees are not used to the constant references to firing and job insecurity often used as a management tool for construction workers in the field. Despite excellent benefits, the office staff suffers a revolving door of brain drain as a result of this off-putting practice in multiple departments.

    Cons

Commute is not the greatest, Located in industrial area, wish it was more local to better food choices, Parking can be full at times.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! I love the approach and team work between executive and associates. I do suggest being a little more active in your local community.
