I have been working at Mylan Inc full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay, benefits, tone at the top

    Cons

Too much middle management that have been there too long. They're not supportive of change. They don't follow through on the tone set from the top.

    Advice to Management

Implement upward feedback so there is an avenue to improve poor managers or get them out

I have been working at Mylan Inc full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    - A lot of opportunity in the pharma industry and Mylan has a broad portfolio and large global presence
    - With M&A activity, it "should be" set up well for the future
    - Passionate lower-level employees that are hard working and willing to put in the effort

    Cons

    - All executive leadership. They have no idea that the culture is the worst it has ever been, or if they do they don't care.
    - Nobody believes in what they are doing anymore, and the leadership doesn't believe in the employees. "My way or the highway"
    - Too much micromanagement. Top Execs have driven this company into the ground and the culture reflects it. Forget about having a novel idea.
    - Uncertainty about the future with bad press, more bad press, voluntary layoffs and even more bad press.
    - Unclear commercial direction, unclear vision, unclear leadership.
    - Nobody feels like they work for a good company anymore. Zero morale and the employees realize that nobody cares.

    Advice to Management

    - Look in the mirror and realize what you're doing to destroy what was a great company
    - Embrace change, technology and open-mindedness. Despite the mission, vision and values that are put out as propaganda, it's not a representation of the company. This company is old-school, dictatorial and refuses to change.
    - Instead of "my way or the highway," maybe you ought to put yourself out to the highway as you've destroyed anything positive.

    Pros

    -Pay/Bonus
    -Coworkers
-Advancement is likely if you network with the right people
    -Additional skill education is offered

    Cons

-Recent negative public perception has made sales roles extremely challenging
-Senior management cares more about the bottom line than the employees who are busting their butt day in day out
    -Stressful
    -Recent lack of job security

    Advice to Management

Go back to Mr. Puskar's founding concept of "Doing what's right, now what's easy".

    Cons

Horrible CEO, tarnished corporate image, multiple rounds of outsourcing/layoffs, damaging publicity from EpiPen scandal & inversion deal, constant job security threat from potential merger/buyout and the associated shortcuts taken to keep an attractive balance sheet and prevent hemorrhaging shareholders amidst scandals.

    Advice to Management

    Keep your resume current.

I worked at Mylan Inc full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Very inexpensive health benefits.

Free tea and coffee in the break rooms

    Cons

Mylan is not a good place to work if you have children or want a life outside of work. Horrendous work/life balance. Expected to host phone calls as early as 5 AM and late as 8 PM in the same day, and be available to answer phone calls and emails 24/7.

Working from home is greatly frowned upon, even for corporate employees who are given a work cell phone.

No sense of direction for its employees and is very unorganized. Management does not make decisions and blames others when things do not go well.

There are many opportunities to move up and around, as long as you are willing to work yourself to the bone or have a connection with someone in a higher level in the organization. Very bureaucratic.

    Advice to Management

Hire new leaders who cares about employees' well-being and decide on the direction for the company

I worked at Mylan Inc full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Global Scope of Business - great experience with international talent and customers
Impressive Peers/Colleagues - bright, collaborative, caring
Opportunities abound - many commercial and operational areas have low process maturity so there's plenty of opportunity to make improvements and advance the business.

    Cons

Sr Leadership Politics, Very little permeates middle management (up or down)
Success is too dependent on heroic acts from individual contributors - this is worn as a badge of honor
Current focus on short-term tactical moves, while sacrificing sustainable progress on long term, strategic objectives.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid of transparency. If you motives are true and sincere, let he light in.
