    Pros

-the company has a very friendly environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and actually become part of the team without feeling pressure
-offers a lot of opportunities for collaboration

    Cons

mylan is a large-size global pharmaceutical company meaning that sometimes it can be challenging to make sure that every employee feel part of the big picture. However, that is generally an issue for any decent-sized company

    Advice to Management

-Mylan has a great environment and company culture as of now. It will always be helpful to promote diversity, more open communications, and open environment for any employee.

I worked at Mylan Inc full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you are someone who wants to be challenged, who wants opportunity, and who likes to work in the grey then you will love Mylan. It's not a place for everyone but for some it's a great place to be. It feels like a very flat organization at times, especially if you build a strong internal network. You will get a lot of exposure to different projects, and senior people who are some of the brightest minds in the industry. You will set out to achieve goals in the beginning of the year and most likely all of those will change by the end of the year but the environment is exciting. Change is constant and the organization doesn't stop moving so hold on tight and enjoy the ride. This is a great organization to join as a young professional with ambition.

    Cons

If you need a lot of direction, and clear boundaries then you may not be happy at Mylan. You will work hard and will have to learn how to balance your personal and work life on your own but the opportunities are there for those who will reach for them. You will need to work hard to build strong relationships to see success, and have enough emotional intelligence to know when to put your head down and focus or speak up and branch out.

    Advice to Management

You say your people are your best asset, and that your employees are the "Mylan Family". If you believe that, then you need to start talking like a family - get around the dinner table and become more transparent about what is going on in the organization. How are decisions be made and Why. Talk to the employees about the future and where you are going. They need to hear from you in a personal way. If not your best assets will talk with their feet, and walk out the door.

I have been working at Mylan Inc full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    - The compensation and benefits are really quite good.
    - Workspace at Corporate location is nice.
    - Potential and opportunity is still very high here - if you know how to work it.
    - CEO has vision but cant seem to get her leadership team to execute on it (see con about ability for leaders / managers to make decisions).

    Cons

    - Internal culture is at all-time low due to the lack of engaging work and a sense / ability of ownership. This starts at the top with management that won't let a decision be made without their review and understanding.
    - There is a "Boys Club" here, particularly with the management of North America.
    - Frequent missteps (public) that aren't acknowledged or root-caused.
    - HR department is terrible on all fronts, as CEO and President wont give them any autonomy. Hiring is constantly frozen / unfrozen and backfilling needs highest approvals.
    - No turnover at VP level despite plenty of inconsistent performance.
    - No stock options / RSUs unless you are VP (recently changed to remove middle management from these benefits).
    - 6-month re-organizations which dont seem to be thought through. Friends of leaders get the positions they want.
    - Executives havent listened to their employees (no employee surveys) and are out of touch with the current sentiment.

    Advice to Management

PLEASE let the people you hire do their jobs and make decisions. Take a real look at why this company is bleeding high-performers. Address the top-heavy nature of the organization immediately.
