    Pros

-the company has a very friendly environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and actually become part of the team without feeling pressure
-offers a lot of opportunities for collaboration

    Cons

mylan is a large-size global pharmaceutical company meaning that sometimes it can be challenging to make sure that every employee feel part of the big picture. However, that is generally an issue for any decent-sized company

    Advice to Management

-Mylan has a great environment and company culture as of now. It will always be helpful to promote diversity, more open communications, and open environment for any employee.

I worked at Mylan Inc full-time

    Pros

Great pay, great benefits, great people

    Cons

It was like working for the CIA as it seemed like everything was top secret. Keep your resume updated because you're going to need it. Very unstable work environment with what seems like layoffs every 3-4 months. You have managers and directors who have been promoted based upon the "good ol' boy/girl" network and have absolutely little to no formal education pertaining to their field and it shows to people hired from outside the company. I personally had 3 people who I reported to and not a single one of them had a degree, resume, or working knowledge comparable to mine. Not a single one could perform my daily job functions if they needed to, but they "micromanaged" my work and department. Think about that for a second. There will be more layoffs because they keep laying off the wrong people. It's a slowly sinking ship and instead of getting rid of the people responsible for the holes in the body, they are throwing off the people with buckets pouring the water overboard.

    Advice to Management

Quit looking at years of service when promoting people and start looking at actual knowledge of the job and industry. It's not a bad thing to hire from outside the walls of Mylan.

I have been working at Mylan Inc full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Large, global company that feels like a small community. Lots of opportunities to learn something new while on the job – no two days are ever the same. An addicting fast pace. Interesting projects and teams that push you to be on top of your game. Good, hard-working coworkers. Opportunities to gain global experience and meet people from all over the world. Nice activities and holiday celebrations. Strong pay and health benefits that can’t be beat.

    Cons

Unfortunately, Mylan sometimes gets a bad rap because it’s so different. It’s not your traditional corporate culture.

    Advice to Management

Continue encouraging employees to explore their interests and moving people into new roles.

    Pros

Little to nothing is tuely good.

    Cons

Behind the times in everything. Does not value it's employee's frequent layoffs of over 500 people just to save some money. STAY AWAY!

I have been working at Mylan Inc full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Benefits are great and the work/life balance is good. I can take a day or a week off with very little notice as a chemist. Also, since I've worked here, paid OT has been available almost every weekend.

    Cons

Toxic work environment. Management is horrible. Nepotism is out of control. Don't expect a fair review, bonus, or raise at the end of the year. High scores and promotions are given to friends and favorites of management. HR is completely worthless so don't expect any help from them. The company writes their paychecks.

    Advice to Management

Completely restructure. Maybe replace with people who actually have personnel management skills instead of your golf buddies.
