    Pros

The pay is competitive and the benefits are good. It is a fast paced environment with a lot of opportunities to learn new things and be on high profile projects. Great tuition reimbursement program.

    Cons

There is little work/life balance and spending time with your family or having other obligations is looked down upon. People lose their jobs left and right and everyone is looking over their shoulders. Their is not a collaborative feel in the workforce because it is everyone for themselves. People are becoming a product of their environment.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees. Don't just say people are our most important asset-mean it and act as though it were true.

I worked at Mylan Inc as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It has good salary. They lure with good package but working hours are too long.

    Cons

They do not have good Manager who are expert in their fields. e.g. IT service do not have competent managers who understands technical terms but they expect you to solve Manager herself is not aware of the solution. They are not reliable so do not put yourself in trouble with joining Mylan. It seems that there are lots of cuts in outsourcing.

They are not reliable & may say you good bye at any moment. Location is odd & costly. Work culture is not good ata ll. They speak good in front of you & stab on the back. NEVER join such company which is not professional. Very very bad company with stress environment.

    Advice to Management

Check about outsourcing who is doing and under what terms as lot of malpractices is going on.....

    Cons

-A Company without respect of employees, absolutely no work-life balance.
Location is crazy. Small college town. But its expensive for some reason. Its in the middle of no where.
-Not a great place with a lots of access to things/activities/entertainment
-Outsourcing is what they are good at. Not a good place to work. Employees are not happy even though
they get good benefits. Work hours are crazy.

I worked at Mylan Inc full-time

    Pros

OK pay, tailgate for WVU football games, social events

    Cons

Majority of employees are rude, on a high horse, or just don't care about you at all.
Do not delegate right people to certain tasks (ex. training, management)
Do not care to hear your ideas/input, their way is the way they will continue performing even though the industry is changing
Too focused on the failure of rival companies instead of trying to excel themselves
Make growth opportunities more accessible, too many people going for it -- along with new hires. Makes it impossible to move up unless you want to wait forever.

    Advice to Management

Delegate training/coaching to the right employees. People who have good rapport, experience, and actually WANT to help the employee will do a better job than someone who is passed a long the job because of convienence.

    Pros

Strong company with a strong future

    Cons

The leadership at Mylan does not care about their employees. They lead with fear rather than respect. Even within the departments, everyone looks to put the blame on someone else and no one hesitates to throw a colleague under the bus to save their own behind. The culture is defeating. Lots of yelling, swearing and name calling from the top down - no respect for employees whatsoever.

I worked at Mylan Inc full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The pay is decent. The health benefits are some of the best around.

    Cons

If you are looking for growth opportunities, this company is not the place to be. The motto of the company on the production side is "it's not about what you know, but who you know". Morale is at an all time low, and there are a lot of unhappy employees.

    Advice to Management

Place people in positions that they are qualified. Take advantage of employees who want to do great things for the company. They are a valuable resource that can go over looked.

I have been working at Mylan Inc full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I get a paycheck, the benefits are still good (for now)

    Cons

Our executive management at MTI is utterly incompetent. They are a cabal of “good old boys” who have been allowed to promote each other into executive positions of power and now exercise complete control over this facility the fate of its products and employees. As one of the other posters noted, “tyranny” would be a kind description, and the bullying and favoritism is rampant and encouraged by both senior and executive management – its psychological violence, plain and same, designed to exercise complete control over employees. Total confusion, and indeed, paranoia is rampant – how would you feel if your job was threatened very day my management? Our health care claims for psychological distress are through the roof....and MTI just ignores it.

Mylan Southpointe has allowed these so-called “leaders” to crawl, slither seep and ooze into positions of power and they are costing (and will continue to cost ) MTI millions of dollars in lost revenue. Morale at the site is in the toilet, employees have lost all confidence in our so-called “leadership” and employees simply come to work and go through the motions; they do not care – why should they? Its obvious their leadership does not care about them, and Morgantown continues to let them run amok. This is not something new, and Mylan Southpointe has consistently turned a blind eye to it. Is this how you want one of Mylan's premier revenue generators to continue to operate??

    Advice to Management

Mylan Southpointe - do what needs to be done – send a team up, investigate, fire the entire leadership team (from Directors on up to VP) and replace these backwater pharmaceutical hillbillies with competent, educated, ethical, moral industry professionals. Show MTI that you care as much about us as you to the bottom line. Allowing these people to continue to control the fate of MTI will be the end of this manufacturing site.

    Cons

No work life balance, stuck in old ways. Many employees are just looking towards retirement and not willing to look outside the box. Production is often given tasks with little direction on how to proceed and expected to figure it out. Management says they do not pressure employees, but pressure is on all the time.

I have been working at Mylan Inc full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fast growing company with many positive "Visions". Salary is higher than most companies in the area. Great benefits.

    Cons

No team effort. "Everyone for themselves" atmosphere. Very "Top Heavy". It seems like there is a Manager, Director, SR. Director , VP, Sr VP or president for every two employees. Individuals are promoted or hired based on "who you know" not actual qualifications. Always seems to be an unspoken threat of termination.

    Advice to Management

Need to spend more time developing employees and less time in conference calls. Very little communication with new employees, provide more feed back on job performance and training progress. Stop the "fear" mongering.
