    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Great strategy: Vertical integrating in the generics industry is the way to go.
Some very competent specialists in India and Switzerland

    Cons

Aribtarty nature of CEO and Chairman, keeps throwing the people in the firm for a loop

    Advice to Management

CEO / Chairman should be kept to strategy only, rather than micro managing people. You aren't getting the best out of your middle managers

    Pros

Inspiring mission, compensation, can do attitude of the culture, good company to work for in a bad economy, location is great, low cost of living, good CEO

    Cons

More SVPs per square inch than an investment bank, some SVPs very weak and/or poor leadership models but persist, very poor communication, weak HR function, very political environment. Long work weeks, not sustainable.

    Advice to Management

Talent management is an area to look into and improve. Need to improve communication and transparency - VPs seem afraid to cascade information down, unclear why this is but should be fixed.

    Pros

Best benefits in WV probably and most well known employer in the area.

    Cons

Absolutely no personal life. Plan to spend most of your life and some weekends working without overtime pay (most are salaried) and make no prior commitments or you will be talked about behind your back. Would never recommend a friend to work here.

Company is extremely top heavy as in everyone's a VP it seems so working your way up is difficult. Very old style of management and does not like change.

    Advice to Management

If employees are going to be putting in such longer at least offer 3 weeks vacation instead of 2. Switch to casual dress code since its more comfortable to work all night in jeans.

    Pros

pay and benefits package is very good

    Cons

This is a very antiquated 20th century management group, which lacks leadership skills, provides little or no direction or vision among managers and supervisors. Blind obedience is the daily order of the day.

    Advice to Management

Be more receptive and open to employee improvement suggestions, and stop encouraging employees to inform on one another. Encourage adult, rational interactions.

I have been working at Mylan Inc full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I get a paycheck on time and it seems like a few may be trying to do the right thing, but are over ridden by the other side.

    Cons

Poor treatment of fellow employees from tyranny management. The bully system is the standard form of communication and a non existent career development plan. No one knows what is really going on and everyone is paranoid.

    Advice to Management

Face reality. You cannot do science if your busy fighting over who gets to use the bathroom first. Take some conflict resolution and teamwork building classes together, then use them. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

I have been working at Mylan Inc full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pay is above average and the benefits are unbeatable.

    Cons

Poor work/life balance, very difficult to get time off. Even on vacation, you are expected to work. Over 40 hours a week every week is the expectation and when you are not in the office, it is expected you are mobile connected and still working. Upper management would rather hire outside rather than promote from within.

    Advice to Management

Understand that not everybody wants to be married to the company.

I worked at Mylan Inc as a contractor

    Pros

Good catering, Professional Environment, Well-qualified employees.

    Cons

I went through a temporary agency and initially I didn't get the job. A week later, I receive a call saying "Mylan wants you back". Right from the start I was walking on eggshells. Mylan prouds themselves for quality hiring, but this was a disaster. The whole time I was there, everything was so rigid. It was as if you weren't allowed to talk to certain people because of their corporate status. Everyone seemed so worked up for such a simplistic department I worked in. I didn't see much opportunity for growth within either.

    Advice to Management

Get your noses out of the air and start treating your newly on-board people with respect.
