I worked at Mylan Inc full-time

    Pros

The people who actually do the real work are very nice.

    Cons

Without doubt, the worst place I’ve ever worked. I can’t speak to other departments, but in development management only care about submitting as much crap to the FDA as possible, even if it’s of terrible quality, flies in the face of all regulations and scientific rationale, puts patients at risk and makes our department look like idiots. The hypocrisy of the management is staggering. The same manager who puts pressure on you to break rules to get something done will, in the next hour, be lecturing the department on compliance. If you stand up for what is right you will eventually be driven to leave – it happened to me and it happened to other people. Even if you’re happy to keep your head down and do what you’re told, don’t expect to be treated with a shred of dignity, to get any decent training or development, or to have less than 3 persons full workloads piled on you with basically no guidance. While you’re at it you’ll be working with outdated systems and procedures that might as well be written in crayon for all the robustness and scientific merit they have. I cannot believe this place survives audits.

Despite numerous people leaving, numerous people going on stress leave and official complaints of bullying, HR seem powerless to remove to the terrible management.

    Advice to Management

    Leave

    Pros

    Myaln had Excellent office infrastructure

    Cons

    Extremely bad environment of work.

Audits for 2-7days simultaneously almost every 15days where employees had to reach in morning shift and leave after middle shift timings!

They used to many a times eat up even the weekly one day off (saturday used to the so-called off, no off on sunday)

    Salary very less

Absolutely NO work and life balance

Most employees had to work overtime without any payment of overtime

All the departments had the similar scenario

Many employees started developing severe health issues within a year of working into Mylan due to the animalistic working life

Some of the employees were continuosly made to come in the morning shift (from 6.30am) and made to work till night shift (12am). ABSOLUTELY NOOO Exaggeration regarding this. (and even after this hardly some peanuts of overtime was paid)

    Extreme problem in getting leaves.

Pathetic company where the managers themselves coudnt survive, rather they were also seeking opportunity to leave the company ASAP

Instead of giving any sort of benefits to the employees...the money was rather spent on the US Mylan people for their very frequent visits to Indian branches of Mylan. The number of "delegate" used to vary from 3-10. So you can calculate the money spent on each one of the foreign visitor....the money which was actually made from the blood of the employees

    Advice to Management

    Hats off to the management!!

I have been working at Mylan Inc full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    - A lot of opportunity in the pharma industry and Mylan has a broad portfolio and large global presence
    - With M&A activity, it "should be" set up well for the future
    - Passionate lower-level employees that are hard working and willing to put in the effort

    Cons

    - All executive leadership. They have no idea that the culture is the worst it has ever been, or if they do they don't care.
    - Nobody believes in what they are doing anymore, and the leadership doesn't believe in the employees. "My way or the highway"
    - Too much micromanagement. Top Execs have driven this company into the ground and the culture reflects it. Forget about having a novel idea.
    - Uncertainty about the future with bad press, more bad press, voluntary layoffs and even more bad press.
    - Unclear commercial direction, unclear vision, unclear leadership.
    - Nobody feels like they work for a good company anymore. Zero morale and the employees realize that nobody cares.

    Advice to Management

    - Look in the mirror and realize what you're doing to destroy what was a great company
    - Embrace change, technology and open-mindedness. Despite the mission, vision and values that are put out as propaganda, it's not a representation of the company. This company is old-school, dictatorial and refuses to change.
    - Instead of "my way or the highway," maybe you ought to put yourself out to the highway as you've destroyed anything positive.
