RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at MyoKardia full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
No exaggeration, the most rewarding and enjoyable employer I've worked for in at least 10 years. Doing work that is rewarding for a company that I can be proud of working for. Is it perfect...no, but how leadership seeks employee feedback and what they do with it set MyoKardia apart from the pretenders who only talk about company values. I was going to keep this post short, but then I read a couple of the negative reviews...they are so ridiculously off-base that I felt compelled to put an accurate review out there. I'm guessing they came from a couple misfits that were, deservedly so, shown the exit door due to not being able to play well with others. There has been turn-over on the ClinOps side, but nothing out of sync with industry standard. Flexible work arrangements promote a superior work/life balance. People don't care when you arrive or leave; rather that you meet deadlines, which is the way it should be! Leadership that lives our company values...CEO that is approachable, well spoken, and believable. During the COVID-19 shelter-in-place, they continue to pay us to work from home, and nobody has been furloughed or laid-off. Small-company feel even though we are rapidly growing. HR benefits that get a little better every year. We have "no meeting Mondays"!
Cons
growing a little too fast for me. An interesting combination of too much redtape in some groups and not enough documented work flows in others. Company has held on to a small number of dinosaurs in mid-management who are slow to adopt new technology and are stuck in old ways of thinking.

"Friendly culture but inexperienced, inefficient management"

Neutral OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at MyoKardia full-time for less than a year
Pros
The pay and benefits are very competitive. Systems and tools are in place to do your day-to-day job (HR, IT, etc). The people are all very genuine and nice people. I think everyone is truly doing their best and there for the right reasons.
Cons
For the most part, senior directors, VPs of all levels, and much of the EC are inexperienced for the roles they are in. Many people have never launched a drug before. Because of this inexperience, there is a powerful tendency for the senior management to involve themselves in every aspect of projects instead of letting the many professionals they've hired in the last year do their jobs. As a result, people are in meetings all day so implementation of deliverables largely happens after hours. Processes are very, very inefficient. Most deliverables I've been involved with take 4 to 5 times as long here (no exaggeration) than any other company I've been with.

RecommendsPositive OutlookI have been working at MyoKardia full-time for more than a year
Pros
Science Researchers that are passionate, friendly, and collaborative, especially toward non-Research folks. No egos here. Company culture is best I've ever been a part of. Well-defined values that we genuinely live by. Execs that exude confidence yet are very approachable. Great benefits for a company this size. Above average IT team, technology, and controls. Great work/life balance and schedule flexibility.
Cons
Okay, there's one or two folks that aren't as awesome as everybody else that make me cringe, but there's a surprising lack of prima donnas compared to other BioTechs I've worked at.
