I have been working at Myriad Genetics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Strong teams; Passion for the Mission and Patients First; Fun company events (summer party, Halloween party, etc) Philanthropy Events; Tuition Reimbursement; On-site gym; Clean, stocked break rooms with free cups, plates, bowls, coffee, tea, ice machines etc; Profit Sharing; 401K match; Great Healthcare benefits, Health fair clinics with flu shots

    Cons

Change can be difficult for employees that have been here a while. Most departments are running very lean and backfill positions need to be justified.

    Advice to Management

Reward the employees that are working with Myriad as a career, not just a job. Examine turnover trends and the cost of hiring new employees. Develop better retention programs based on tenure.

    Cons

I have been working at Myriad Genetics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Get to work with lots of intelligent, educated, caring people. This company encourages education, and they keep a powerful focus on the patient.

    Cons

This used to be a great place to work, but they just slashed our benefits. They are all about the bottom line. Since Pete Meldrum left, the executives care only about the stock price. I will be looking for a new job. Our stock price is doing well and still, they are slashing and cutting. They took away our ESPP, doubled and tripled our premiums, slashed our 401K, upped our deductibles, reduced our yearly pay increases. Also, there just isn't enough PTO. If you (or your child) gets sick, don't plan on a vacation.

    Advice to Management

The company got to where it is because of the people who have been dedicated to transforming patient lives. You don't reward those people by reducing their quality of life. Since executive management gets their bonuses based on the stock, they have basically sold out all of the employees who make significantly less in order to satisfy their greed.

I have been working at Myriad Genetics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I have worked here a lot of years, and was promoted up to Manager level. I feel like Myriad treats its employees well. We have great benefits and the team I work with are great, and work here for the right reasons, the patients. I've received a lot of Manager training with the new training program and it's helped a lot.

    Cons

If you cant adapt to change, then this isn't the place for you. We are always going through change. I've noticed the people that cant handle it end up leaving. From my experience the change is for the better of Myriad. The pay isn't the highest, but I get profit sharing so that makes up for it. I was able to finish my degree and Myriad helped pay for that and they have a great 401k plan.

    Advice to Management

Take advantage of all the training opportunities Myriad offers. Even if you think you don't need it, I always learn something. Communication is key with a company going through so much change. Go to the townhalls and the seminars, to keep on top of things.

    Pros

Good pay for a entry level position.

    Cons

It does take a good amount of investing to build trust with upper management - which is understandable. They have a high turn-over rate.

    Pros

Amazing team, the job is very patient focused, and really requires a lot of problem solving skills. Overall a really good place to work.

    Cons

It's really difficult to move up in this role, it's all pretty much based on seniority and that's unfortunate. It can be a difficult job to do and is very intense at times, but having such an amazing team to fall back on makes it easier.

I have been working at Myriad Genetics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers and Supervisors are all great

    Cons

Upper management doesn't really seem to care about moral, CEO has spread the company too thin and has started taking away the amazing perks that made Myriad worth working for. It went from a Career to a Job

    Advice to Management

Watch the moral in every department. We know the customers matter but managements job is to make sure the employees matter and Myriad doesn't do that very well.
