I have been working at N. Glantz & Son full-time

    Pros

    Wonderful co workers, casual dress

heavy work load, not a lot of room for advancement

    I worked at N. Glantz & Son full-time

    Pros

Good salary $50k, $6k car allowance plus gas card. Company laptop and phone. Good people at the branch. Customers were mostly pleasant. National sales meeting is a good time and provides some good vendor training.

    Cons

No 401k match. Bonuses are meager. New hire training is non-existent in an industry that has thousands of competing products. Company has a 5 year organic growth plan while the competition is buying up the regional competition. Distribution is inefficient and slow compared to the competition. Company is known for having the highest prices.

    Advice to Management

Bring in some outside investment and speed up the 5 year plan. Don't pretend to be a national company if you only cover small parts of the country.

    I worked at N. Glantz & Son full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Owners are great. I would have ran through a wall for Davey Glantz. Salary was ok. Low for area and position.

    Cons

Where to start. Incompetent new management team has no clue how to run this company. All new upper management are from outside the industry, hamstringing any new growth. Lack of employment law and regulations are going to bite them hard. Sad to see a once great company spiraling out of control.

    Advice to Management

Davey... fire all the new upper management and get back in the game. N Glantz is the laughing stock of the industry. Take care of the people working 14-16 hrs a day. You don't screw loyalty.

    I worked at N. Glantz & Son full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Decent starting pay and good people as co-workers.

    Cons

Very little, if any, room for advancement from the driver position. They are also very stingy with raises.

    Advice to Management

Hire from within and stop with outside hires unless absolutely necessary. If you want to keep turnover lower, give deserving employees merit raises.

    Pros

Good vacation time / branch level management

    Cons

Senior management promotes the "Good Old Boy" mentality. If you are part of "the in crowd" you can do what you want when you want.

    Advice to Management

open your eyes. Clean out your non performing people

    Pros

Coworkers are wonderful and the benefits are good.

    Cons

Management is untrustworthy. If constructive criticism is offered towards a review they had, you are marked. The management is underhanded and the process of verifying and entering data is not to code

    Advice to Management

Hire a new manager. A few more people are looking for jobs elsewhere because of the manager's emotional problems.
