"Great job, not for the faint of heart."

I have been working at NAFI full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You learn to really trust your co workers and have the opportunity to really be proud of your work in supporting the youth. Great opportunity to hone your crisis intervention skills and there was a lot of freedom for staff to initiate activities, projects and games.

    Cons

High turn over means you're always playing catch-up in training staff. Lower pay than comparative companies, but it makes up for it with a strong sense of community.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at NAFI full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Camaraderie, role models and mentors, challenge yourself and your values, create change for good.

    Cons

Long hours that demand sacrifice to personal life, physical/emotional exhaustion from challenges of dealing with day to day issues, negativity.

    Advice to Management

Best role models are the ones who do instead of just say great catch phrases.
