I have been working at NAMSA full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Growth and opportunities for advancement. My manager actually cares about me and my team. Recognition and a sense of accomplishment for the testing we offer. It's meaningful!

    Cons

Some people are less than grateful for the benefits, recognition and communication. That can be defeating at times.

    Advice to Management

From what I see, it's great!

I have been working at NAMSA full-time

    Pros

    Easy Interview
Food Trucks Sometimes Come In To Service Employees

    Cons

Complacent Management, No Enforcement Of Employee Policies & Procedures
LIMS Computerized System Is Constantly Slow, Freezes, Or Crashes All Together
Loud Music Coming From Order Processing Department That Disrupts Productivity Of Staff
Order Processing Department Employees Have a Do-Whatever-They-Want-To Attitude and Are Hostile To Other Employees Which Impacts Work Performance
Back Breaking Work and Long Work Hours
Too Many Employee No Shows, Absences and Tardiness With No Consequences
No Teamwork In Order Processing Department

    Advice to Management

If I could give this company a lower rating I would. I seriously doubt if anything will change due to complacent management at the higher level.

They need to get rid of their current staff in the order processing department due to non-compliance of employees in that department. Too many absences, hostility towards staff from other departments, loud music that plays continuously from their department which effects work productivity and just basic lack of professionalism.

If management at higher level cannot enforce these changes they should be fired and replaced as well for their complacent attitudes.

I have been working at NAMSA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Able to move up quickly if you know the right people.

    Cons

Health insurance is a joke, it covers basically nothing. Too many lazy people that should be fired and yet are still allowed to stick around and given too many second chances, creating more work for competent people. No work life balance within the department. Working a 50-55 hour work week is the norm.

    Advice to Management

Need to listen to their employees regarding resources needed for the department. Also include employees in organizational change decisions instead of springing it on them, especially of it effects that employee directly. Learn the job that people do, so you have a clue what goes on in your department. Get better project management skills.

I worked at NAMSA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Paycheck, Benefits, and co workers

    Cons

The Labs are understaffed which leads to burn out, so people leave then suddenly scramble to fill positions but only hire to the level you were at. leading back to more burn out.

    Advice to Management

Get out of the ivy towers, and talk to the lab personal, not the lab management.

I have been working at NAMSA full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The team you work with will be the only thing keeping you motivated.

    Cons

The supervisors are a joke. They don't even do they job they are paid to do. They take many days off whenever they want but demand the job to be done even if it means over time. They sit in numerous "meetings" or "conference calls" and are never available to actually help. The guy who does most of the work isn't "qualified" for the position but he's doing all the supervisors work with no respect.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and not what the supervisors say. They will admit to not knowing the job anymore.

I have been working at NAMSA full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The team you work with will become lifelong friends and will feel like your family. I say that because you will no longer have friends and family outside of work once hired. The teams within each department are very close knit and hardworking.

    Cons

Extraordinary amount of overtime, no work-social life balance at all, minimal pay, no chance of career growth unless you're married to/related to/best friends with someone high up. Weekend work and holiday work isn't awful. There is some effort to keep it light on those occasions.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. They're not stupid. They're speaking from the heart. They want to do better and be better if only they weren't constantly beaten down by being overworked and underappreciated.
