I have been working at NAPA Auto Parts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It’s a good company to work for if you can learn fast and have a positive attitude towards new challenges everyday. You will move up fast if you are driven to become grater. Opportunities are always available at Napa Auto Parts to grow.

    Cons

If you can not motivate others to help you with your daily tasks, it will be difficult to be successful in this field. It’s a team effort.

    Pros

    Big company with growth opportunity

    Cons

Old culture; most trainees are straight out of college but only meet 3 times out of the 18 month program. The rest of the time is spent in regional offices with "experienced" workers.

I worked at NAPA Auto Parts full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Job Security, Benefits. good employee discount

    Cons

As with most larger corporations, there can be a disconnect between management and employees. This can be even more challenging with middle management being also disconnected. Work/Life balance store managers and assistants are expected to work far too many hours every single week.

    Advice to Management

Consider improving work/life balance, find ways to allow managers to only work 50, 60 or more hours occasionally, not every week.

I worked at NAPA Auto Parts full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are some great coworkers who are just team players.
Time does go by quick because it is generally very fast pace days.
There are opportunities because there is a turnover.

    Cons

The company was much better 7 years ago when I started. As assistant you get paid hourly and are required to work 50+ hours a week so with all that overtime that's where they say "you're salary". With working 50+ hours(that's why they promote a "family feel" workplace because work becomes your family) say goodbye to a work/life balance.
There is a major lack of communication/support/empathy/care from upper management. The pressure from upper management to make quota so they can get their huge bonuses is harsh.

    Advice to Management

Do some research, listen, talk to your employees they know your customers better than you do. Pay attention do the work culture, no one want to work 50+ hours we have families and a life outside of work.
